In a game with no consequences, why are you still playing the 'good' side?

Because being 'mean' makes me feel bad.

------------

We all have been taught in our school days, to behave like a good boy / girl but never taught how to be one. Based on what we followed and what we did it was decided either we were bad or good. It was often shameful to be a bad guy and often delightful to be a good one.

Years passes by and we all grew up. But the things we were once taught, kept on fading like smoke on the glass. And now we don't actually care on which side we stand. There's always a confusion about whom to be good with, own self or the world.

Being good vs Doing good..

It was in one of the documentaries that I heard a person saying "I am not interested in dying having been good, I am interested in dying having done something good." This word has been struck with me like forever since then. Now look back to your past again and ask yourself, "Were we necessarily good to be good or for doing good?" or "Was this good thing, actually good for me or them?"

Well, hold your thinking here. Being good is not actually about all the good things you have done, it is also about all the bad things that you saw and you took stand to change it, even though you couldn't accomplish it, but you were actually the one who gave a damn about it. When we keep on adding good things to the world, bad things don't just disappear, we have to end it. Sometimes it's easier to defeat the bad in us rather than defeating the bad outside us. We don't eliminate things by inverse proportion here. We actually eliminate by not letting them grow - in and around.

What makes you good isn't necessarily good for everyone!

There was once a painter who was trying so hard to make a perfect painting. He used to draw painting and put it on a wall outside his house asking people to help him find mistakes so that he could correct them. Each day he tried so hard to fix things, but in vain. One day he thought of putting the same picture again but making a slight change. This time he wrote underneath the painting, "Help me fix what's wrong with this.."

He was surprised to see there was not even a single mark on his painting the next day. Imagine yourself in the place of that painting. You are one of the finest art ever created and only you could know it. This world, no matter what, will always make you doubt about your self potential and worth. Your imperfections are simply the evolving step of your life and you are going to deal with it alone. So instead of seeking people's validation or judgements, try evolving (not fixing) yourself. Because you have nothing to fix in you, only possibilities to improve and grow.

You have so much light inside you that it makes them blinded. And we all know what we do with the light that blocks our vision. However this does no harm to the capabilities of the light.

You are good for the ways you handle your darkness.

No person is ever bad, they are just on a bad side of the story whose path needs to be adjusted. There is no heavier pain than of guilt. So instead of passing judgements about what's wrong, try to find ways of making things right.

There are two type of lost people - one who admit being lost and try to find their way back, and there are other ones who never know they are lost until they are forced to realise (karma things!). I read somewhere that "when you cling on to things that aren't meant for you, the universe gives it the power to hurt you in ways you finally have to let go of them." (karma things again!)

So it's not about deciding who's right, but about what can be done right. Not who's good, but how to be good.

Have a Good time, finding good!!
