I pack my bags. I'm finally running away from home. It's the perfect day. Mom and Gregory are having dinner out, and Nathaniel is at a sleepover. I grab a photo of dad in his military uniform and smile.
I look around and grab some more necessities. My sketchpad, a camera, and my army knife.
When I leave, I leave the door unlocked. That way, Mom won't think I was kidnapped.
I walk to the street, and cross it. Two more to go, then I'm outta town. I cross the next one safely. Then I go to cross the last one, I take one step, a huge force hits me, then all I see is black.
I open my eyes, and I don't see earth when I sit up. A red sky overhangs black earth and navy shrubs. The first thing I think is, What just happened? Where am I?
