The Last Battle

Just after the Autobots gained their new recruit, Lennox and his squad arrived to cross the bridge, unaware that it had been raised. "Contact base, tell them to get Brains to lower that bridge!" Lennox ordered one of the soldiers as he walked over to the Autobots. "Who's the new guy? Is he friend or foe?" Lennox quized Sideswipe. "The name's Prowl, former Decepticon turned Autobot." Prowl responded, crossing his arms. "What exactly have you humans been doing this entire time? Leaving Sideswipe and Ironhide to be caught? Lucky you, not having to experience what it's like to loss someone close to you." Mirage insulted the group. Lennox didn't respond as he had flashbacks and made Mirage look to the three remaining survivors of what used to be an entire platoon. The red Autobot looked through them and quickly noticed something, "Where's Epps?" Mirage then asked, this time confused as he knew the two were inseparable. Lennox dolefully looked to Mirage, "He sacrificed himself to save us four." For once, Mirage felt no anger and instead sorrowful for Lennox, his face expressing it. "I-I'm sorry for your loss..." Mirage apologized. Sideswipe was surprised to see Mirage be mournful of a human, making him proud of his best friend. Ratchet noticed someone was missing and turned to see Air Raid on his knees holding Breakaway's corpse in his arms. The medic walked over and kneeled down to him. "I couldn't save either of them... I failed." Air Raid disapproved of himself. "There was nothing you could've done to prevent this. I think you've seen enough action for today. Take Breakaway to base and we will give him a proper funeral once this battle is won." Ratchet said in a gentle tone. Air Raid slightly nodded, picking up Breakaway's body and using his jetpack to fly off. The Autobots looked to a nearby street where they heard the sound of car engines approaching. The three Wreckers drove up in their NASCAR vehicles before transforming. "What brings you three here?" Sideswipe asked them. "We heard a fire-fight happening and was hoping to join in. Unfortunately, it looks like that ended." Leadfoot answered as he kicked through the Decepticon remains and released Steeljaw from his belly to let him chew on the bodies.

Sentinel walked along the edge of the Jewelers building, looking into the smoky sky to see all pillars in their launch positions, "How doomed you are, Autobots. You simply fail to understand that the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few." The former Prime stated as he walked over to the Control Pillar and held his hand over it, "Activating the Space Bridge." Sentinel added. The four Pillars began sparking with blue lightning before shooting it towards the top of the building, shortly followed by a large, blue beam of light that shot up from the tip of the building and into space. Outside of Earth's atmosphere, the beam stopped, opening up a portal to reveal a small portion of Cybertron's hexagon shaped surface like a honeycomb.

Just as this happened, the Autobots looked to another street to see the big rig, Optimus Prime, rolling up with his trailer, detaching from it to transform, "Autobots, we need to destroy the Control Pillar quickly!" Prime stated, "I can easily reach it with the rocket pack in my trailer, however, it would be dangerous while so many Decepticons surround the building." Optimus then said. "I have information that says the Constructicons are in there too, enough to form Devastator." Mirage informed them. "We saw that both Shockwave and Devcon are on the main road to the Jewelers building." Lennox shared. "Not to mention that the Driller could be anywhere." Chromia added. "Lennox, what's your plan with Devcon?" Optimus asked the human. "There's a large parking area on the left of the Jewelers building with few Decepticons. Our plan is lure him over there with an attack and have one good strike to his back to take him down." Lennox briefly explained. Sideswipe liked the idea, "Then that's our plan, to separate the Decepticons so Optimus can fly in a destroy the Control Pillar." The group faced the streets again to see multiple NEST tanks, missile launcher trucks, and transport vehicles with soldier reinforcements arriving, some of them taking Barricade back to base. Everyone's attention was caught by the sound of a loud clunking noise and turned to see the drawbridge slowly lowering. "Seems like Brains finally hacked into it." Lennox said with a smile. Once the bridge was down, the Autobots and NEST raced across it before the Decepticons regained control.
