A month of impatient waiting later, and the day was there. Cassia had had trouble sleeping the night before, and yet she still sprung out of bed in the morning. Will, on the other hand, slept later than he was supposed to and made the family late.
"I'm so sorry Molly, we had a bit of a late start this morning. I hope we didn't drag you behind," Wendy said as they hurried through the train station, panicked.
"Oh no! Not at all. We were having a bit of a late start ourselves," she said, shooting Ron a look.
When they got to Kings Cross Station, the Weasleys walked a bit behind the Brights, and Cassia nervously checked the clocks that were placed through the station. They weren't late, but she cracked her knuckles anxiously regardless.
They reached the platform and Wendy gently took Cassia's hand to lead her through after Finn and Will had gone through.
The sight of the scarlet train made her nervousness melt away. She watched as it puffed smoke and students rushed away from their families to find a seat.
"Cassie," her mother started, "you write to us as much as you can, okay? And stay out of trouble. Tell us all about the friends you make," she had tears in her eyes, and Cassia hugged her tightly.
"Of course Mum," she said, hoping her mother wasn't too sad about her departure.
Then, she looked at her dad. He was full-on crying and he bent down to hug his daughter.
"I love you Cass, can't wait for you to tell us all about your adventures."
"My turn," Will said sarcastically, throwing his arms out. Cassia darted away as Will said his goodbyes to their parents.
She found Ron still with Mrs. Weasley, who was wiping something off the end of his nose.
"Aah, has ickle Ronnie got somefink on his nosie?" said Fred.
"Shut up," Ron muttered.
The ginger family talked amongst themselves a bit more before Molly turned her attention to Cassia.
"Cassia, dear, have a good time at Hogwarts, okay? I'll be looking forward to seeing you at the Burrow when the school year ends."
Cassia smiled and hugged her before listening back to what Fred was saying.
"Hey, Mum guess what? Guess who we just met on the train? You know the black-haired boy who was near us in the train station? Know who he is?"
"Who?"
"Harry Potter"
Cassia widened her eyes and realized she didn't even notice the boy, who was apparently standing with them in the station.
Fred and Molly bickered a bit, but they were interrupted by a loud whistle sounding from the train.
Cassia and the three boys clambered onto the train and after the boys kissed their mother goodbye and the four said their goodbyes to Ginny, the train started off.
The two first years walked down the corridor, searching for a place to sit.
"Bertie!" Will yelled, sticking his head out of the corridor he was sitting in. "You can come sit with me!"
"That's okay!" Cassia said, walking past quickly as the group of Hufflepuffs chuckled in their corridor.
Eventually, the pair happened upon a compartment with only one passenger in it.
