The Goblet of Fire sat in the entrance hall, filling the hall with blue-white light. The Welcoming feast provided the students with information about the tournament: one student from each school was going to be chosen and will compete. However, these students must be seventeen or older, much to the Hogwarts student dismay.

"Eternal glory, be brilliant, wouldn't it? In three years from now, we'll be old enough to be chosen," Ron sighed as they looked at the goblet.

"Better you than me," Harry quipped.

Fred, George, and Lee Jordan bound into the hall, laughing excitedly.

"We've done it!" Fred said triumphantly. "Just taken it!"

"What?" Cassia said.

"The Aging Potion!"

"It's not going to work!" Hermione smiled brightly.

"Oh yeah?" Fred smirked. "And why's that, Granger?"

"An Aging Potion?" Hermione laughed mockingly. "Surely Dumbledore thought of that."

"You'll see!" he chirped. "Ready? I'll go first!"

He pulled a slip of parchment from his pocket and stepped over the age line. George cried triumphantly and stepped after him. There was a loud sizzling sound, and the twins were thrown across the room onto the stone floor, sprouting long, white beards.

The hall burst into laughter, even Fred and George joining in once they stood up.

The quartet entered the Great Hall, where the Goblet of Fire had been moved to the teacher's table, in front of Dumbledore's chair. The hall was dark, being lighted only by the blue flames of the goblet.

"Who d'you think it'll be?" Cassia asked excitedly.

"Hopefully anyone but Diggory," Ron said.

"I hope it is," Cassia laughed. "Just to make you upset."

The flames in the goblet turned a bright red, sparks flying from the top. A charred piece of parchment fluttered from it, making the room gasp and fall silent.

"The champion for Durmstrang," Dumbledore read clearly, "will be Viktor Krum!"

The room burst into applause. Cassia thought Ron was going to cry from joy. Krum stood up and walked to the staff table, disappearing through the door into the chamber.

"The champion for Beuabatons...is Fleur Delacour!"

Applause exploded again, everyone watching Fleur walk by. Several of the Beauxbatons girls broke into tears over not being chosen.

The goblet turned red for a third time, a piece of parchment shooting high into the air.

"The Hogwarts champion...is Cedric Diggory!"

"No!" Ron shouted.

Cassia hardly heard him though, for the Hufflepuff table had exploded into applause. Will screamed and hugged his friend, his face covered in excitement. Cedric walked to the back chamber, smiling widely.

"Excellent! We now have our three champions!" Dumbledore beamed. "But in the end, only one will go down in history. Only one-"

Dumbledore suddenly stopped speaking, looking back at the Goblet of Fire. The flame had turned red again, and, showered in sparks, a piece of parchment shot from it. Dumbledore grabbed the paper, reading it for a few moments.
