Nothing Has Changed

*Emily on*

It is now the next day and I just arrived at school. I wasn't feeling as scared as I usually feel, because you know......what happened yesterday, maybe it's a sign that everything is going to be alright now.

As soon as I enter school I see Sam standing in a hallway, he does not really notice me as he is on his phone, so I go up to him and say hi.

Emily:Hey, good morning Sam!

He instantly stops looking at his phone, grabs my arms and looks at me instead with....worrieness in his eyes?

Sam:Emi! Oh my God are you alright? Is everything ok? Did he hurt you? Matthew I mean, Ariana told me you went to his house yesterday. He didn't hurt you did he?

Emi:Hey hey hey! Slow down! Don't worry I'm just fine. He didn't hurt me, he really wouldn't even if he wanted to, his mom was home.

Than out of nowhere I feel someone hugging me, it was Ariana.

Ariana:Emi! Oh my God how are you? Are you ok?

Emily:Hey Ari, yes I'm ok don't worry. Ends up his mom was home.

Ariana:Oh thank God!

Emily:Yeah, oh guys you'll never guess who Matthew's mother is!

Sam&Ariana:Who is it?

Ariana:And how do we know her? Because for you to speak like that we gotta know her.

Emily:Well you guys do know her yes, and guess what? It's Mrs. Lopez!

They both gasp looking at me as if they have seen a ghost.

Sam:Wait what? For real? Like Mrs. Lopez?

Ariana:Yes like as in Mrs. Lopez? As in THE Mrs. Lopez? As in THE school's principal? As in OURS school's principal?

I laugh at both of them

Emily:Yes! Mrs. Lopez as in THE school's principal.

Sam:Wow, tha-that is actually AMAZING! Means we can have Matthew under control.

Ariana:Yes! Sam is right!

Sam:I know I am. I always am.

Ariana:Oh! Shut it!

She says while hitting his arm playfully. Soon enough the bell rings and we all go our separate ways to our classes.

*Some hours later*

It is 6 p.m now,so school is obviously over, but I stayed for a little while in school so I could finish my homework and help the teachers arranging the talent show that will happen next week.

I am leaving now, I thought the school would be empty by now, so it surprises me when I see someone walking down the corridor. It's someone I didn't expected to see, it's Luccas my ex best friend. I try to look down in hope that if he remembered me (wich he probably does not) he wouldn't talk to me, but as we get closer to each other, it surprises me what happens next.

Luccas:Oh, hey Emily, uummm, it's been....a while.

Emily:H-hey Luccas.... Ummm y-ye-yeah, it's been a while. Umm what are you doing here?

Luccas:Oh you know, it's actually none of your business. Anyway I gotta keep going, goodbye nerd.

And just like that he walks away, tears start to fall down my cheeks, both because I've missed talking to him, and because what he said before he left did hurt me as he was my best friend once, but even thought I was crying I also smiled, because I mean, I talked to him again, someone who once was so close to me.

I wait some minutes to calm myself down and stop crying and start heading home again, I'm greeted with a hug and a kiss on the cheek by Liam, he was waiting for me so we could eat dinner together, apparently mom and dad weren't home, they went on vocation to France. So taking that opportunity, we stay up until late watching movies and playing games after dinner.

*The next day*

It's almost 8 in the morning and I'm now arriving at school, and I'm really tired because of last night, but it was pretty fun so I have no regrets.

Soon I see Ariana so I walk up to her.

Emily:Hey Ari.

Ariana:Good morning Emi!

She says hugging me.

Emily:Where is Sam?

Ariana:He is not coming to school for the next week. He went to Italy to celebrate his older brother's wedding.

Emily:Oh okay.

Than the bell rings and we walk up to class together.

*Hours later*

I'm now on my third/fourth class, inside the classroom waiting for the teacher to come. The teacher is actually a little bit late, wich is not weird but it's not normal either. Mr. Davis does not show up THIS late, and before I have time to think more about it, the vice principal, Mrs. Anderson comes in.

Mrs. Anderson:Good morning young ladies and gentlemen. As you must noticed Mr. Davis is not here yet, well that's because he suffered an accident so he won't be giving classes for the following two weeks, in order to get better, so that mean you won't have French class today, so please, silently and calmly you can pack your things and leave. Have nice day everyone.

We all wait until she leaves, than we all start packing our things and leave ourselves. I start heading home as Mr. Davis' classes were my last classes, on my way out I see Matthew, and for some reason I don't feel as scared of him, but maybe I should've because when he crosses me, he grabs my arm and starts to punch me. And that is when I realize that after all....nothing has changed.
