First Love

Lorelei's POV

I shutter briefly as I lead Liam and his mother through the door.  " Wow I'm trying so hard not to panic right now. " "I have no idea what to do."  I carefully sit down at the end of the table. My mother sits down on one side and Liam sits down next to me. He squeezes my hand under the table. "Hey don't worry, he whispers. "Somehow this is going to work I think. " "But how?" I whispered back. "What if our mom's become really good friends??" "Umm excuse me Lorelei could we say a blessing please?" "Oooh right," I cleared my throat anxiously. I closed my eyes as my mom said a brief prayer for dinner. "Thank you," she said catching my eye with a glare. "Sorry," I muttered where no one could hear.

"So Lorelei I didn't expect to see you tonight," Liam says looking right at me. My mom and his mom shoot each other glances. " Umm, you failed to mention this earlier," I whispered to Liam. "Um I didn't know about this either," he whispered back to me. "Oh so Lorelei you know Ms. Ro'meave's son? "Umm yeah we go to the same school," I smile widely. "Why is this so hard to lie about !" "I don't like lying but I feel like mom won't approve if I tell her this is the boy I'm secretly dating." "How on earth do I get out of this one??"  "Yes," Liam says to his mother. "She is a very nice girl, I enjoy seeing her around school." I blushed as he said this, "drat," I said to myself.  "Stupid reactions your going to give me away."  "Maybe you should date her," Ms. Ro'meave said. I almost dropped the bowl of carrots I was holding.  "What why mom?" said Liam, his face going as white as the bowl. She gave him a weird look," Well if she is nice as well as pretty then why wouldn't you want to date her?" "Oof oh yes that's an excellent point mother thank you."
