Morgans POV.
"Dam it I knew I should've left earlier Mavrick is going to kill me."
Morgans head quickly turns when he hears his phone ring, seeing that it was his godfather calling he answered the phone with the Bluetooth.
"Hey Mav... I'm alm-" Morgan said nervously before getting cut off by Mavricks raspy British accent. "Morgan where the hell are you?! It's almost 10pm!" Mavrick yelled scoldingly through the car's speakers.
"I know, I know, I'm really sorry. I got caught in some end of summer traffic on the main highway I'm about 15 minutes out of Beacon Hills with the last of my stuff from the move... I'm really sorry, I should've left earlier so I could help with the moving truck." Morgan said with a hint guilt trailing in his voice.
It was eerily quiet for a few seconds before anyone spoke, all you could hear was the engine purring of Morgans Navy Blue 1972 dodge Coronet.
Mavrick let out a huff "It's all right bud. You just got me worried about ya is all. And don't stress about the truck I had hired people to do that for us coz there's no way in hell we could've done that ourselves." He sighed. "Just come straight to the house and no detours or pit stops. I mean it" He said sternly
"Eye eye captain" Morgan responded sarcastically with fake seriousness in his voice making his Godfather laugh a little on the other end of the line.
"I mean it, I'll see you soon I've ordered some Thai food too and got you a stir fry." Mavrick said.
"Okay sweet thanks Mav I'll see you soon." Morgan said cheerily.
"Okay well drive safe." Mavrick said befor endeding the call leaving the car in a peaceful silence. With the occasional raor of the cars engine.
Morgan looked at his surroundings as he drove along the road into town. "Wow this place is just surrounded by woods." Morgan said to himself with awe at the seemingly endless rows of trees. It would probably look stunning if it was daytime. It was a suprisingly cold night for summer, the autumn air was starting to set in. It was almost a pitch black night if the cars headlights wern't breaking the blanket of surrounding darkness you'd just see the tree's next to the road. The only other illumination you would get are from the specks of full moon light breaking through the tree line as the tall oaks sway from the breeze.
The peace was broken however when Morgan was pulled out of his daze when a small tree flung itself into the middle of the road up ahead. He just had enough time to slam both feet on the brakes as the car came to a screeching halt barely a meter away from the tree. "Holy shit." Morgan managed to say in between deep heavy breaths as his heart beat like a jack hammer in his chest. He opened his door stepping out of the car in his baggy black tracksuit pants and white nikey hoodie an brown joggers.
He slowly gave his car a quick once over seeing there was no damage his heartbeatslowedan his breathing finally settled. He then went to examine the long thick mini tree laying over the road that the surrounding woods had decided to thrown at him.
"Ehh great, now I'm gonna be even later and Mav is definitely going to kill me or worse. Eat my stir-fry!" He yelled out in realization as he threw his hand in the air in frustration. He walked to one end of the tree that was sticking over the left side of the road wrapping his hand around the one end. He had to snap off small branches that were getting in the way of him lifting it.
"Well I better drag this big ass thing off the road in case someone else comes through an doesn't see it." He said to himself as he started to pull and heave. It took a few minutes but he finally got the giant twig off the road.
As he wiped the sweat off his forehead and dirt off his hands he heard someone scream in the woods. The sound made his stomach roll as he looked around frantically into the dark forest. He ran back to his car slaming the door shut an just as he started the car to drive off he felt like he was doing something wrong. "Shit. Someone might need help." He gazed out to the open road ahead only for his brain to scold him for wantingto leave. "Ah crap." He huffed as he pulled his car off to the side of the road grabbing a tourch ventureing into the woods.
