Bendy huffed, looking around his containment cell. Nothing to do. As usual. The demon groaned, letting himself roll off the bed and onto the floor. He could always just walk out and see if he could help with anything. He could do that now that he was allowed too...
He sighed again for what seemed like the hundredth time that day, before slowly mustering the will to get up. Today just felt like a lazy day. The SCP opened his containment cell door, meandering out. Might as well see what was going on in the cafeteria. What time was it anyway?
Bendy glanced inside an office as he walked past, checking the time. It was only noon. He wasn't looking forward to the rest of the day, if it was anything like what had passed so far.
It wasn't long before he reached the cafeteria. While it was a long walk, and the building was like a maze, the toon had always had a good sense of direction. The studio had been exactly like this. It would seem like the rooms would move around on their own. Some of the studio workers (And even Bendy himself) still suspected it.
He walked into the cafeteria after letting a female scientist through first. Ladies first, I guess. Old habits die hard. A few people glanced at him, but his presence was dismissed as it was so common.
Bendy grabbed a fruit cup from the concession stand, before making his way to his usual spot. The cafeteria was crowded, but there was still a spot left open for him just in case he came. He liked the corner spots, or the wall if that was taken.
To his luck, a corner spot was open, and he quickly took it before it was claimed. The people at the table greeted him, before continuing their conversation. They knew he wouldn't talk, unless he was asked something.
The SCP opened the fruit cup, spearing the mango with his claws before eating them. He was listening to the conversations around him, just in case he was mentioned.
"Hey, Bendy?" The demon looked up, curiously tilting his head to show he was listening. "Have you ever had a pet?" He took a moment to think about it. "No. Unless the rats I would sometimes catch count, but I ate a few of them.."
A few of the scientists look disgusted at the fact he had eaten rats, but Bendy didn't care. It fact, they weren't half bad. "You ate rats?!" A particularly revolted scientist shrieked. The SCP just shrugged.
"Well it was that or just keep eating bacon soup." He turned back to his mango, before adding, "They tasted pretty good too." The woman who had spoken up freaked out, leaving the table in a rush as people stared at Bendy.
"Dude.. That's just gross. You said you could've eaten something else, right? So why would you eat the rats?" The man sitting across from Bendy asked. "I'd been eating the same thing for decades. It was expired, and probably not even edible. I'd rather take my chances with a rat then whatever was in those soup cans."
The demon sighed, going back to eating his mango. There wasn't much left as the table went quiet. The conversations started back up eventually, although by the time they did Bendy had already left.
After a day full of wandering, Bendy meandered back to his cell. His gaze wandered around the room, checking for anything out of place. His desk.....
What the Drew is that?!
An overexcited scientist walked into the room behind him. "I see you've noticed already. I was going to make it a surprise, but I guess it already is." Bendy could only stare at the man. "What exactly is it?"
"Its a fish!" Saltzer chuckled, bouncing up and down in excitement. The demon looked back to the tank with a small oh, before looking back to the human. "Can I eat it?"
After lots of explaining, (sadly he could not eat the fish.), Bendy was staring at the chubby little golden fish that was his new pet. The concept was odd to him. He was used to eating other animals if they wandered into the studio, not taking care of them.
Also, wasn't he a pet himself? A pet of the foundation. That train of thought made him sick, and he was quick to redirect himself.
"- So only give it 2-3 shakes of food per day, the food is in the drawer. If it looks wrong come to us and we'll figure it out. Got it all?" The demon halfheartedly nodded, before glancing at the decorated aquarium.
It was quite pretty, with fake sea plants and a little sunken pirate ship. The little fish swam inside the ship, peeking its head out at him.
"Whatcha gonna name it?" The scientist stood besides him now, glancing between the SCP and the fish. "..." Bendy thought for a moment, before deciding. "Goldie."
The fish, Goldie quickly swam to the surface to eat the food that was shaken in. The SCP did the same, except his was on a plate. Bendy had to admit it was nice having a pet. It gave him something to do, and it was rather calming watching it swim around.
The demon finished his food about the same time the fish did. It stared at him expectantly for a moment, before losing interest and swimming into the pirate ship. Bendy had soon learned it was it's favorite spot.
He glanced at the fish one last time, before heading to bed.
