Chapter 1 ''Prologue''

15th Of February 2019

''Reiko! Reiko!How long till we get there..?'' my sister said as she hung onto my shirt.

I looked around to see on which street we were but all I could feel is being lost, everything has changed in the past 10 years, I used to know these streets from the back of my head but now everything looked so different.

''Yui, I've told you we're almost there!'' I said as I pulled her off my shirt then stopping in my tracks as I gazed upon a small house.

''Here it is...'' I quickly took the key from my pocket and went to open the door. The house looked like it hasn't been touched in years. like it was isolated from society, stuck in the past.

I open the door and the cold air brushes past me and Yui. The smell of rotten wood hits my nose as I took a step inside.

Yui grabs my hand grabbing my attention '' Reiko... I don't like this place, can't just we book a hotel..?'' she said coming closer to me.

''Yui... I know you don't like it but in the meantime we'll have to stay here, think of it how it was before with grandma and mama, plus you know we don't have the money for a hotel.'' I said as I reached for the light switch which luckily still worked.

''But back then there weren't any monsters!'' she said as she crossed her arms.

Even after all these years she still remembers that night? Of course, she would what even am I thinking, a child would remember that, hell anyone would.

''I told you monsters don't exist, just terrible people'' I begin to look around.

''Why do you still not believe me? They weren't people!" she shouted as her voice echoed in the eerie house.

"Yui, you were 5, I doubt 3 eyed, 6 feet tall monsters killed them'' I said still looking around.

''Reiko, I know what I saw! I know for sure!''

''So what, am I supposed to believe that monsters emerged from the walls and ripped mama's and grandma's tongues out? And let's not forget the slashed throats..! Honestly grow up.'' I turned to face her.

"You know... I expected that at least my ''loving'' brother would believe me!'' She said storming out the front door.

''Yui! Where are you going?!'' I shouted after her but nothing.

Maybe I was a bit too harsh on her, but thinking monsters killed them it's ridiculous.

I run out the house to look for her but she's nowhere to be seen.

Where the hell has she went to?.. I should go look for her.

I started walking towards the town centre where she mentioned that she wanted to visit a popular cafe when we were on the plane.

''Aroma Mocha... really..?'' I said underneath my breath.

She might be inside

I went inside the cafe to look around. It looked like a cafe out of the Pinterest photos Yui kept showing me. 

I looked over at one of the window sits and see a pissed off  Yui drinking what I think is hot chocolate but then a man sits at her table.

Is she already making boyfriends?! I lost her only for 20 minutes!

Wait... why is he touching her under the table? She looks very uncomfortable. 

I come closer to their table.
