Chapter One: Always and Forever

"Bring her out!" Sophie yells and three witches walks me out and I see Sophie and some guy in a suit. "Who the hell are you?" I ask "Give us a moment, please." The guy said and we walk inside one of the burial vaults that is lit by candles all around the room. I'm sitting on one of the benches and Elijah is walking around. "So, have they been holding you here against your will?" Elijah asked "They lured me out to the bayou and grabbed me. And they did all these... weird, witchy tests. Not that I understand how this could happen. I mean, vampires are dead. They can't have children."I say "Perhaps if you knew my brother's story, it might explain how this is possible." He walks closer to me. "Here, if I may." Elijah said and he moves his hand towards my head by I lean back away from him. "What are you doing?" I ask and he sits down in front of me. "Relax. If you open your mind to me, I can show you." Elijah said and this time I allow him to touch my head. I close my eyes.

"In the beginning, our family was human... A thousand years ago, now." Elijah said

-Flashback-

Rebekah runs with a younger boy behind her.
"Come, Henrik. Our brothers are fighting again." Rebekah said

Klaus and Elijah both with longer hair were sword fighting. Klaus cuts Elijahs belt off and they both laugh.

"Although our mother dabbled in the dark arts, we were actually just a family trying to survive in a time when it was quite difficult to do so. And, for better or worse, we were happy."

"That is, however, until one night, our youngest brother was killed by our village's greatest threat."

Klaus comes home and he's carrying Henrik's body. "Mother!" Klaus exclaimed as he sets down Henriks bloody body.

"Men that could transform themselves into wolves during the full moon. Our family was devastated, none more than Niklaus. Desperate to protect the rest of us, our father forced our mother to call upon her black magic in order to make us stronger."

An older man is holding a girls arm cutting it making it bleed in front of Rebekah. "Drink!" The man exclaimed forcing Rebekahs head down as she drinks the blood.

"Thus, the first vampires were born. But with this speed, this strength, this immortality, came a terrible hunger. No one felt this hunger more than Niklaus."

Klaus attacks someone feeding from them until the person dies.

"When he killed for the first time, we knew what he truly was."

Klaus' bones start breaking making him scream out in pain. Their father and Elijah running towards him. "Niklaus!" Elijah shouts "What is happening to me?" Klaus asked and Elijah starts to run towards his brother but his held back by their father. "No. Don't. Don't." Their father said pushing Elijah back. "Father! It hurts!" Klaus yells as his bones keep breaking. Klaus' eyes glow the werewolf amber color with vampire veins underneath them. "He's a beast, an abomination." Their father said

"He wasn't just a vampire." Elijah said "He was also a werewolf. That's how the werewolf curse works. It isn't activated until you take a life." I say "Niklaus was the result of an indiscretion our mother had hidden from us all. An affair, with a werewolf like yourself."

A women stands in front of a fire, casting a spell.

"Infuriated by this betrayal, my father forced our mother to cast a spell that would suppress Klaus's werewolf side, denying him any connection with his true self."

Their father is binding Klaus to a wooden cross. "Elijah! Elijah, hold him down!" Their father said "Brother, please! Don't let them do this to me!" Klaus exclaimed "Do it now, boy! Now!" Their father exclaimed and Elijah moves to help their father hold Klaus down. "Help me." Klaus said
