Meredith wakes up with a bit of a headache, but that's not unusual, because when she goes drinking, she's almost always sorry in the morning. She groans, and stretches up when she feels a warm body, and she realizes that she isn't alone in her room.

The previous night slowly starts coming back to her, and she re-lives some vivid flashbacks of fervent kisses, and breathy moans, and orgasms that made her toes curl.

She'd love to stay in bed for just a little while longer so that she and her companion could go for round two... Okay, three... Okay, maybe eleven but that's not the point, the point here, is that it's eight-thirty, and she was supposed to be at St. Ambrose at eight-forty-five, and she still hasn't even gotten dressed yet.

Damnit!

Meredith sighs before she wakes up the staggeringly beautiful redhead next to her, dropping a pillow onto her shapely ass until she wakes up with an "unh-" and turns over on her side so that Meredith can see her.

The woman untucks a pair of her black lace panties out from under her, and holds it out and says that "this is..."

"Humiliating on so many levels," says Meredith, blushing. You have to go-" says Meredith.

"Why don't you come back down here, and we'll pick up where we left off?" says the redhead.

"No, seriously, you have to go, I'm late! Which isn't what you wanna be on your first day at work, so-" says Meredith.

"So, you actually live here?" says the redhead.

"Well, temporarily," Meredith giggles.

"You know, you never really did give me a tour, I bet this place could have a wonderful sauna, or a hot tub, or a pool or-" the woman chuckles.

"You know, we don't have to do the thing, y'know, where we exchange the details, pretend we care... Look, I'm gonna go take a shower, and when I get back, you won't be here, so goodbye..." Meredith rambles until she opens her eyes fully and realizes she's completely forgotten her companion's name.

Hours of their lives, all of the mind-blowingly hot sex, and she has no idea who to thank for it.

"Addison-" Addison supplies with a grin.

"Meredith-" says Meredith, in case Addison had forgotten also.

"Nice meeting you-" says Addison, as she sits up.

"Bye Addison-" Meredith giggles, as she takes her towel and heads for the shower.

A part of Meredith secretly wants Addison to ignore the part she just said about disappearing before she got back. That same part of Meredith secretly wishes that Addison would follow her into the shower, and take all her clothes off, and devour her until she forgets she even came to work here.

But alas, Addison does okay her requests, and she dutifully collects her things, and finds her way out, and once Meredith is done showering, she sees no trace of her, save for the indent on the other side of the bed.

"It's a good thing-" Meredith says to herself. She can't get attached here, Los Angeles is beautiful, but it isn't her home, and she can't just change her whole life for a one-night stand she met at a bar, anyway, no matter how awesome last night was.

Meredith sighs, and gets dressed, and she calls a cab to the hospital. She waits at the front desk for Charlotte King to appear, and Charlotte does not too long later.

"Yes, Dr. Grey, here is your visitor's badge, and your patient's room number," says Charlotte. "I'll show you the way."

"Thank you, Dr. King," says Meredith.
