Daisy's POV:
I am not sure how long I was at the Hydra base for. After the first few years everything blended together. I have no memory of life before they took me away. I was sure I was going to die there.
Now, I am in my room at the Avengers tower. Everyone here seems nice enough. I don't remember them saving me, only me waking up in a hospital like room with a man named Bruce and Tony, who I later found out was the Hulk and Iron man. After healing my wounds, which was the reason hydra kept me so long; since I am a healer, I heard them talking about how I have DPD (dependent personality disorder )  and also something called selective mutism, which is from my anxiety and is why I can't talk around them.

I have only been here for about a week and I have barely seen anyone. It is my fault though. I am scared that once they see me or I talk they will send me away again. They will realize I was not worth saving and am too damaged to be helpful here. I will go down for meals and that is it, usually sitting as far away from anyone as possible. I just hope that soon something would change because I could not keep living in fear.

Afternoon:
I tiptoed into the kitchen where everyone was fighting over food, hoping to not be noticed. That lasted about a minute when Natasha walked in behind me.
"I saved you a plate at the end, I was hoping you would come down, Tony said he has an announcement to make to us." She said with a kind smile leading  me to the last seat knowing I liked the space. I gave her a small nod in return and sat down, feeling my anxiety rise at what the announcement could be. My thoughts were cut short when Tony started talking.
"As you are aware Thor has gone back to Asgard and is returning today. However, I just got message that Loki will be coming back with him as well, on orders from Odin."

"No way is that happening " Steve said interrupting him, obviously not fond of the thought of Loki staying there.
"We can not trust him here! Especially with Daisy here it is too risky" Bruce agreed with him on that fact while the rest of them just nodded their head agreeing. "Sorry guys, you know I don't want reindeer games here either but the way Thor told me there was no room for discussion ." After Tony said that I left the table and went back to my floor. I did not know who Loki was or why they hated him but I needed to get away from there fast, too much happening at once makes my brain go into over drive and I feel like passing out.

When I finally got to my room I huddled on the bed and tried to calm down. I had found many places to hide in my room thanks to all the time I spend up here. I always like to have a place to go in case something goes wrong. Thanks to me only being 5 feet tall and very under weight from my time at Hydra it is easy for me to hid anywhere. My favorite spot at the moment is in the library, in nook inside one of the book shelves. On my floor is the library which I love spending time in. Although since all I can remember is Hydra, I don't know if I ever went to school, or how to read or write. All I know are the basics, like how to read and write my name, yes and no, and a few other things. I really want to learn more but I do not want to be a burden to anyone here more than I already am so I never asked.
Now all I have to do is wait until dinner.

Loki's POV:
When we got to the Avengers tower everything Thor was saying was going in one ear and out the other. I did nothing wrong besides being mind controlled and now I am being punished for it. "... Whatever you do, be quiet and nice around Daisy. We don't know what she has been though and it is not like she talks to us so just be careful around her." What did he say?
"Reindeer games its always a pleasure. Did Thor tell you about our newest member?" Before I could answer Tony Thor cut in "Of course I did! Told him all about everything!" He relied with the biggest smile while patting my shoulder. " No, I do not know about her. Is the name Daisy by chance?" I said hoping to get a little more information about the girl everyone reminds me to be careful around.

"Yes her name is Daisy. Poor girl was at hydra for how knows how long and we saved her just last week. You will be staying on her floor so I need you to promise you will be on your best behavior around her okay? Please?" Is Tony really pleading with me right now?

This is perfect; an easy target to mess with and I get at Tony too because for some reason he seems to really care for this girl. I smirked as I thought of how to mess with them until I saw a small girl poke her head around the corner not trying to make her presence known. Gorgeous was a understatement describing her beauty. Although as I looked closer I saw how skinny she was and the scars across her body. My fist clenched as I felt the anger in me rise at the thought of someone hurting this girl. Wait, why am I thinking these things, I don't even know her?

As I had this internal battle I did not even realize she had stepped out from the shadows and was now almost in front of me. She kept her head down and was playing with her finger as she made sure not to stand too close to anyone it seemed.
"Loki, this is Daisy, you will be staying on her floor during your time here." Tony said in a way that a Dad would introduce his daughter to someone. I took a few slow steps until I was in front of her to make sure I did not startle her and then crouched down so I was her level.

"Hello there little one. I'm Loki. would you do me the honors of showing me to my living quarters?" I said to her quietly to not sound too scary to her. She slowly looked up and when our eyes met my world stopped. I saw her breath hitch too so I knew It was not just me who felt it. It was as if something was pulling me too her, or maybe I have just gone mad.
Tony must have taken her breath as a sign of distress because he then started yelling at me to get away "Loki! What did I just tell you! Be careful around her and not even two minutes into meeting her you scare her! This is unbelie-" during his rant I see from the corner of my eye that Daisy is starting to shake, causing my anger to heighten and I cut him off.

"Stop yelling you Idiot you are the one scaring her not me! now Daisy would you like to show me my room or would you rather me have Thor do it?" I say all this as calmly as I can since I do not want to startle  her more than she is already. It was quiet for a second with her just staring at me. I took this as a que that she was not going to show me so I began to move away from her until I felt a small hand on my arm. I turned back to her and she gave me the smallest smile that made my heart swell with happiness and a little nod. She then took two of my fingers in hers and led me to the elevator.

Once we were inside I made note that she hit floor 22 for the future and then we stood in silence which let me look over her beauty again. She could not be a inch over 5 feet tall and had the biggest and brightest green eyes. Her hair was dark brown almost black and wavy down to her waist. I thought now was the best time to start a conversation, if I want her to ever trust me I have to start somewhere. "Tony and Thor mentioned that you do not speak because of your time at Hydra"

right after I said that I wish I could have taken it back because I saw her stiffen and get more anxious. "I promise that while I am here no harm will ever come to you" I stated like it was my duty to make sure not a hair on her head got hurt. She giggled at what I said right before the elevator dinged that we made it to our floor. Her laugh was the most beautiful thing I have ever heard, I would do anything to hear it again. She pulled me along and stopped outside one of the three doors besides a clear living room and mini kitchen. "I assume this is my room then?" I question while cocking my head towards the door, she shyly nods and then walks a few feet to the next room and points in. "That is your room?" She nods again with a smile appearing on her face now. Since it is no longer light out I am guessing it is night time and not wanting to take up anymore time than she wants to give I decide to spend the rest of the night in my new room "Goodnight little one. I hope to see you tomorrow" I bid to her while opening the door. Although I was already in the room I could have sworn I could have heard a soft goodnight back.
