Walking through the meadow,
Looking at the flowers,
I never seemed to notice, the quickly passing hours. The sun began to hide,
The sky was no longer blue,
The darkness overtook the land in which the flowers grew.I tried to pick a flowers, to take some happiness home,
But I was blinded by the dark, and none of them have shown.I'd think I almost got one, but it would slip right from my hands,
Doesn't the darkness get it?
Doesn't it understand? One more time I grab onto nothing, reaching through this sea of black.
Darkness can you tell me, what do I need, what do I lack.?It doesn't seem to answer,
My own thoughts begin to spin,
I don't think this is a war that I surely win.I walk back through the meadow,
Not one flower in my hand,
I guess the darkness didn't get,
I guess it didn't understand.
