The next day, we were supposed to start the game, but i was nervous. If you asked me back that, i couldn't have told you why. There was a feeling in my gut that everything was about to go south. I just knew that if we played this game, that everything we knew would change. But hey, I was just being paranoid.
I was supposed to be the first one to let Gaius into the game. I grabbed my phone and texted everyone to make sure they were awake. I got the responses soon after and everything was a go. I went to my computer and put in my server copy of the game. Shit was about to go down.
Gaius texted me on pester note, our favorite messaging app, to make sure we both were ready and were about to start. I checked the time and it was the perfect moment to start the rest of our lives.
The loading screen for the game popped up and it took about 30 seconds to fully load. Then, next thing I know, on the screen is Gaius in his underwear. I proceeded to call him and i could see him answer on the the computer screen.
" Hey man, what's up?" He talked and the screen moved. Slowly some screen icons popped up on the top of the screen and i scrolled over them. Obviously i was supposed to control the placing of object in his house. I mean, come on right?
" Dude, why are you inn your underwear? " I chuckled, and watched him flip his shit as he looked out the window.
" Are you watching me!?". He got down and looked around like he was being stalked. I felt like a tiger, peering through the virtual bush that was my computer screen, hunting down my prey.
" Nah man, i can see you in my computer. Since I'm your server, I can see everything in your house. "
" That is just too creepy. Excuse me while i put on my clothes." He went and changed and i looked at the stuff i could build. There was a cruxtruder and an alchmiter in one of the tabs. I went ahead and found spots for them in the house. They could come in handy, right?
Gaius, looking fresh in his clothes, came back into view and we chatted a bit about what i was doing. I told him about the items and where i was placing them. It occurred to me then that something was amiss.
" Where's Nymeria? " I inquired, because if they both live in the same house, then what's going to happen?
" Oh, don't worry. Nymeria is staying at our dad's house for the game. She went over there yesterday. " He gave me a thumbs up and proceeded to d all the things I was having him do, as instructed by Connor. How he knew what to do, I will never know.
Eventually, we got a prepunched card and put it on the totem lathe. Gaius took the cruxite we got earlier and put on the totem lathe too. It turned the cruxite into a totem that had a weird wavy pattern, which really wasn't my style.
We put the totem on the alchmiter and a dark green tree popped up and dropped an apple on the tree fell into Gaius's hands.
" What am I supposed to do with this Harrison? " He asked, and gave me a look like you'd give the camera after someone said something stupid on set.
" You're supposed to take a bite of it."
        " WHAT?"
" You need to take a bite of the apple. It says right here in the instructions that Connor gave me. Just do it man."
He didn't look like he liked it anymore when I tried to reassure him, but it had to be done. He opened his mouth and took a huge bit of the apple, and the screen went blank. That's when I heard the explosion.

As i was walking home the day before, I saw Connor peering at me behind one of the house. I tried to say hi, but he just waved me over to him, like he wanted me to come closer. I walked over and was surprised as to what he was wearing.
He had on what looked like red robes with a hood. On his chest was a different shade of red gear symbol, and his shades.
        " What's up man? " I asked him, " What's with the get up? "
He looked me with his hidden eyes, but his face was that of distress. " Look, Harrison. I'm sorry to give you this and dash, but i really have to go. " He handed me a piece of paper and i read the title, " Specific instructions for SBURB". I looked up to ask him about it, and he was gone. OK? I continued my walk home and couldn't stop thinking about it until i fell asleep.

I ran outside to see the smoke billowing from the direction of Gaius' house. I ran out of the house at top speed and travled faster than a cheetah. I needed to see what it was. I needed to make sure Gaius was safe.
I ran and I ran and I ran until i reached Gaius' house. Or at least what was left of it. In place of the house, there was now a steaming crater where a meteor sat at the bottom. And everything was on fire.
