"(Y/n)—"
"I'll see you guys after class." You interrupted Pennywise curtly, leaving the house and making your way through the wood's trail like you usually did - Michael shadowing your footsteps as closely as possible."Wait, hold on a second—!" The killer clown retried with a puzzled expression; not understanding why he cared so much as he teleported right next to you.
"What? What do you need now...?" You pushed the matter wearily, grasping the strap of your bag while you stopped to interact with him.
"I just don't understand. I don't get why us arguing bothers you so much..." Pennywise brought up with confusion, throwing you another bemused frown as he spoke back.
"Because it makes me feel uncomfortable. That's why." You told him in a huff, flashing him a look of annoyance before continuing to walk towards the university.
"Why though?" Pennywise probed curiously, "You weren't involved. Is it a human thing? Why did you feel the need to step in? And why do you feel the need to fix your friendship with those girls? How come—"
"Listen." You stopped him from talking and spun around to face him properly, feeling strangely defensive as you took a deep breath. "Yes, it IS a human thing. To care about someone...To reconnect with them...It means that you like them. That you...That you appreciate the fact that they're around."
The childish slasher simply stared at you in silence, not understanding your reasoning whatsoever while you sighed again. "It means that you enjoy spending time around them. That's why I was concerned." You carefully explained, now angered by his lack of emotion and disregard for feelings.
"You met me yesterday." Pennywise pointed out defensively, acting even more coldhearted as he carried on talking to you. "So why on Earth would you care about the arguing...?"
"Because," You decided with a soft smile, wanting to behave nothing but kindhearted towards him. "Sometimes you have to give people the benefit of the doubt. So they have a chance to prove to you what they're really all about, y'know...?"
"I tried to end you last night." The golden-eyed killer stared at you with complete and utter disbelief; speaking in a totally flat tone whilst this chaotic conversation kept on. "I tried to suck the soul right out of you. How can you be so calm around somebody as dangerous as that?"
"I don't know. Really, I don't." You responded in the most honest voice you could muster, shooting him a playful grin a few seconds later and trying to lighten the mood. "Maybe your mood-swings are just a little...exaggerated."
"What did you just say to me~?" Pennywise shot back with dark amusement, his flirtatious attitude kicking into play as he smirked in return.
"Yeah. You heard me." You spoke sassily, giving him a small shrug before you two approached the academic building. "Perhaps you're simply a bit...overrated."
"Now you're playing an unsafe game there, little lollipop~" Pennywise dryly hummed, finding your antics to be relatively amusing while he retaliated.
"Oh? Am I? My apologies, Sir." You commented wickedly, wanting to mess around and calm the situation down to some degree as you fluttered your eyes. "I had no idea~"
