Sanctuary, the place to be. Those who arrive, survive.

Today it wasn't the sanctuary it went by. It was war. Sanctuary and the rebels were at each others necks with guns. The rebels leader Brad had a gun at Jonatan's head. Her advisor, her only friend, the person she killed the dead for. The last thing Nicole would want is Jon dying now. He's supposed to be finding a cure not struggling in the arms of a ruthless man.

"What do you want Brad?" Nicole let out a low growl at the end of her sentence, narrowing her eyes at the older man.

The older green eyed man smirked at the girl of twenty-four knives. "Your little, pathetic ass Sanctuary." He spoke looking around, mostly at the women who were watching. "And the babes."

"They'd all kill you in bed." She retorted, frowning as she watched him. Her hand hovering around her belt of knives.

"Not if /you/ are at the stake." He let out a chuckle.

"Then lets get to the point. Me for Jon." Nicole offered by taking her belt off and setting it down then holding her hands up.

Brad nodded and he let go of Jon, pushing him  forward towards Nicole. Slowly Nicole made her way over, listening to her advisor speak. "I hope you have a plan."

"I do." She said as she walked past him. Once Nic got to Brad he tightly grabbed her arm and pulled her close. Turning her so she'd face her friend with his muscly arm over her chest.

"You've always let your stupidity get the best of you." Brad said, lifting his gun at Jon.

"NO!" Nicole screamed, starting to struggle in the strong grip. Jon had raised a brow as he heard his friend's scream. Turning to face his friend the shot was fired and went straight into the center of his chest, as he fell back, blood exited his chest and into the air to fall back down with his body. The only sound that could be heard after that was the thud of Jonatan's body on the ground. Nicole's widen eyes just stare ahead at what happened, tears streaming down her cheek now.

Brad let go of her and pushed her forward like he did with Jon, laughing in pride from what he had just done to her. Nicole didn't feel a bone in her body move as she ran to her dying friend, skidding to her knees at his side. The bullet had passed through his body, there was no chance that'd he'd live when the medic finally gets to him. "Jon." Nic's voice shook with weakness as she gently gripped her friends shoulders. "Please don't die on me."

I'm suppose to keep you alive, I can't do that if you're dying.

"N-Nic..." Jon spoke with his life holding on by a string. "Read the -" He was interrupted from choking on his own blood. Nicole only cringed at the sight of her friend dying. "- first page." He was barely able to finish but he did with his dying breath. Nic watched as his breath stopped from the blood filling inside of his lung. Other's covered their mouths as they watched, others like old women Josie turned away from the scene. Brad just continued to laugh. Nicole now flowing with anger as well reached for her belt of knives grabbing two and throwing them at Brad, completely missing. Grabbing another two they ended up the same. Another two, same thing.

"I told you your-"

Brad's words ended with a gunshot, Nicole had grabbed the only gun on her belt, fully loaded, never used once since the dead started to walk. A gunshot to the forehead. Nicole, now standing with the gun in her hand broke down more.

Phillip soon arrived besides Josie watching his leader fall as easy as he did when he lost Woodbury. The rise and fall. Nicole fell back to her knees setting down the gun. Her tear soaked eyes turning back to her dead friend, quickly she grabbed her friend and pulled his body to her's.

I know you don't like hugs, or people touching you in general.

Phillip did what any co-leader had to do, he sent everyone back to their homes and had the guards go back on watch. The rebels gave up on their leader and surrendered to the Sanctuary.

Through the rest of the day and the whole night Nicole held onto her dead friend. Phillip stayed close to watch and make sure he was able to kill the reanimated Jon if Nicole couldn't. Which he knew she couldn't. In the morning her blood shot eyes met with the changed eyes of her friend.

That's not a growl, Jon's just telling me to get off of him.

His green eyes glowed with a yellow and blood add. Then another gun shot into a head. Nicole did nothing but look into the eyes of the dead. Phillip walked over and gently pulled Nicole away, comforting her in his arms as her sobs came back.

The rise and fall of a Queen, the rise of a new King.
