Everything that lead to the calm before the storm... just before the past rose from the grave...

After the Incident that took Eda (17), Çiçek (6) and Ömer's (2 months) parents and Melo's (15) mother they lived alone on the streets for a little more than a month.

On one particularly cold winter night, they met Sanem (17), a streetwise girl with questionable fashion sense. She took them to her home where her mother Ayfer Dinçer welcomed them with open arms. They were safe and warm that night.

Hope lifted its proud head and fight came into Eda... she grew up overnight and woke up a young woman, no longer a child. She started taking care of their little group, defending them like a tigress... keeping the bullies at bay while Sanem and Melo scavenged for whatever things of use they could find... especially food.

That particular necessity was how they met their Dede, Koray Arslan. He came into their cloudy worlds, being the kind, charismatic, gentle natured, but fiesty older gentleman he was and sweeped them of their feet with his childlike humour and shiny balding head.

Eda and the girls got kicked out of a restaurant and Koray Dede - who was having his supper there - followed them and came upon their little house .

He was appaled at the conditions they were living in and insisted they rather come to stay with him, threatening to have a stroke if they did not.. that was how they ended up in the little apartment. The family had grown a little more and now they had a home. It was a rundown 2-bedroom with a leaky ceiling, peeling wallpaper, cracked tiles and many many other quirks but it was.. Home.

Fifi (18) came a while later brought home by Eda, she always brought home strays, person or creature. Some stayed only for lunch or whatever meal was relevant, others stayed a night, others a week. Fifi stayed forever or so she said she would, "I adopted you and I am not going anywhere." was her favourite line.

They were perfect, healing each other slowly. Each part of the structure essential and necessary, they all belonged and knew their role. "Happiness never happens the same way twice, kızlar, oğlum. You make it yourself. My wife was taken from me, but God sent me you." They were all gathered around Koray Dede one evening. "Go find your stories, they are written in the stars.. You just have to know behind which one to look." So they did.. They lived there for a year and changed their surname to Yildiz, officially becoming a family

During that year Eda dicovered the profitability of underground fighting. Her father thought her well and she quickly became a force to be reconned with. Fighting men - female fighters where scarce and fighting the masculine payed better anyway since they always bet against her.

Melo got a job as a flight attendant, Ayfer sold meals, Sanem schooled Çiçek and Ömer as best she could and Fifi did Fifi. Soon they saved up enough money to buy a beautiful little house, not too far from the ocean.

After they moved, Ayfer Hala opened up Yildiz Cafe and it was a big sucess. Koray Dede did the books and Ayfer Hala the cooking, Sanem was quite creative so she sold little things she made - paintings, jewellery, crafts, Melo waitressed and Eda - aside from the other thing - did anything that got put in front of her, saving up to go study landscape architecture.
