The Protector

We Meet Again

Y/N POV

I duck under a lunging Sabyr but stick my sword up cutting it down the middle. I roll to the side dodging another Sabyr and fire my gun taking out its head. A third Sabyr sneaks up on me and pounces onto me. It digs its claws into my back while biting down on my right shoulder. 

I scream in pain when I aim my gun down it's throat and fire blowing a hole through it. I turn around and fire my gun again which takes out a Sabyr Ruby is holding back. She nods at me when a Megoliath stomps its way to us. I push Ruby out of the way with the Megoliath piercing my side with its tusk. It runs down the street when I plant my feet down trying to stop the Megoliath.

My feet tear through the road before I finally stop the Megoliath. It roars in annoyance when I lift it off the ground, unimpale myself and throw it into the sky. I switch to a rocket launcher and fire. The rocket hits the Megoliath and blows it to pieces. I sigh and unsummon the rocket launcher when Ironwood is projected onto the side of a building.

Ironwood: "People of Atlas and Mantle. There is a great evil just outside our kingdom that goes by the name of Salem. Her goal to divide us and incite hatred in us for each other. We must not allow her to do this. We must come together if we are to beat her."

Robyn: "What he says is true. Salem doesn't work alone. Two of her minions are here in this very city."

Ironwood: "Arthur Watts and Tyrian Callows. These men are responsible for everything that has been happening recently. If we are to beat them and their master then we must put aside our differences and work together."

The feed ends and I regroup with Ruby. She recalls me and we all regroup then head to Ironwood's office. When we get there we see his left arm in a sling and a bag on his desk.

Ironwood: "We have made a crucial mistake. The black queen was the symbol Salem showed before we lost everything. It is her way of telling us she is inside our defenses. I just don't get it, we stopped everyone. But someone put this here to tell me- what if Mantle was only a distraction? What if it was just to get all of us away from the academy?"

Weiss: "Sir. It'll be okay. We've got Mantle on our side and-"

Ironwood: "How do we know that's not just part of her plan? How do we know she didn't want us to save everyone?"

Vine: "In trying to save everyone we left ourselves open."

Ironwood: "Salem has been one step ahead of us all this time."

He slams his fist on his desk which makes the queen fall and let out a clink.

Ruby: "It's glass. This was Cinder."

Ironwood: "If she's here then for all we know so is Hazel."

Blake: "This isn't over yet. We're with you."

Ironwood: "Are you?"

Vine: "Sir?"

Ironwood: "How did Robyn know about the Global Communications Tower?"

Yang: "We told her the night of the ambush."

Elm: "You did what!?"

Yang: "We were trying to help."

Marrow: "By going behind our backs?"

Harriet: "Does that mean you let her escape?"

Yang: "Robyn's on our side! She always has been."

Ironwood: "We don't know that for sure."

Weiss: "None of this matters right now!"

Ironwood: "Loyalty always matters!"

Suddenly a crystal ball like Grimm springs out of the bag and screeches. We arm ourselves when its tentacles shrivel up and the crystal ball falls onto the ground. Black mist leaks out of the crystal ball and forms into Salem making beyond angry. 

Salem: "Congratulations on beating Watts."

Ruby: "We also beat Tyrian and we'll beat anyone you send at us."

Salem: *leans down and smiles* "You remind me so much of your mother."

Ruby: "My mother?"

Salem: "A fighter. A shame that ended badly for her."

Ruby falls to the ground crying when I burst out of my ring and aim my gun at Salem.

Y/N: *crying* "You'll pay for what you did to her!!"

Salem: "So it seems we meet again. Look at you, you haven't aged a day, you really are special."

Y/N: "I swear on my life when I see you I'll kill you. I'll kill in the slowest way possible."

Salem: "Why do you waste your power helping them? You're the only one here with any real power. Join me, and I'll make it so you'll see Summer again."

Y/N: "I'll die before joining you."

Salem: "One way or another, I will have you and your power. It's up to you if you want it to be before or after I kill everyone you hold dear."

Y/N: "I won't let you."

Salem: "Remember what happened last time you said that? Do you really want to lose another one?"

She bursts into smoke which makes me scream in anger and unsummon my gun.
