2 months, last night
New York

"Cheers to one final night" Alora held up her glass, Everett sat next to her as they sat on a curb drinking once again. "You make it sound like you're dying" Everett said from beside her, "well you know you never met my true self" Alora took a drink.

"I'm sure your true self is just as great" Everett laughed, "what happened to no feelings" Alora turned to him. "I knew what i signed up for when we slept together" Everett leaned back, "are you going to tell me about what was so bad you were panicking" Everett asked turning to her.

Alora laughed "well i was a newly turned vampire-" she gasped dropping her cup on the floor, "Alora?" Everett held her as her eyes rolled back before she passed out. Everett held her in his arms pushing her hair out of her face, it was only a couple minutes before her eyes fluttered open.

She gasped sitting up she wasn't panicking but her breathing was still heavy, she looked around before sighing and falling back in Everett's arms. "Gotta admit, that was awesome" Alora smiled, "so you feel no pent up anger of grief" Alora rubbed her face noticing the promise ring on her finger.

"Trust me i'm still grieving over my fallen love and family, but if i keep pushing it down i don't feel it" Alora stood up, "we haven't officially met" she held her hand out. "Alora Everdeen-Branson, witch-vampire, a heretic" Everett stood up shaking her hand "Everett Laurier, 172 year old vampire" he smiled.

"Vampire" Alora whispered looking down at her hands, "ostende mihi virtutem" a small spark ignited before going out. "No!" Alora paced, "what's wrong" Everett said watching Alora get frustrated. "My magic, it's gone" Everett's eyebrows furrowed, "i've been watching you do magic for the last 3 months" Everett said.

"Not that magic" Alora groaned, "my covens magic, it must have gone back to the earth when i died" Alora said. "What, you're not making sense look sit a breath" Everett said pulling Alora to sit, "i think it's time you tell me everything about yourself" Alora sighed sitting back down.

"My coven was the one that began everything, i was part of the heirs those who were set to lead next. The heirs slept a decade at a time in order to live longer. We used dark magic kind of like expression, so every decade we'd filter it. We'd send it into the earth before pulling it back out, on the night we were performing the ritual a group of villagers that saw us as abominations decided to retaliate. They caught us off guard and we had already sent the magic into the earth, they killed us all. Next thing i knew i woke up and had all my covens power, if i was a normal witch i would have died when i used that power but i was a syphoner" Alora explained.

Everett was slightly speechless, "like i said i think my magic went back into the earth" Alora sighed. "So do the spell you used to do?" Everett asked, "i would except i don't know it, it was in my mothers grimoir but last time i knew our stuff was buried in Acra an ancient village where my coven resided" Everett nodded. "Then we'll find it, do some research" Everett tried to calm Alora down, "yeah, yeah we'll just do some research-" she was caught off when she got the whiff of fresh blood.

Her head shot up to look at Everett and he could smell it too, "Alora don't" he grabbed her shoulders. "I can't control it" she whispered before running away, Everett quickly stood up following after her. He turned the corner watching as Alora dropped the girls body on the ground, she was shaking as she whipped the blood away. "I can't control it, i'm sorry" she said looking up, Everett sped to her holding her.

"Hey it's okay, i'll help you i'll be by your side no matter what" she pulled away nodding, "now come on we'll see about your old village" Everett said helping Alora stand up. "Where should we start?" Everett asked as they walked back to the red convertible, "we need to do a locator spell on my pendant that's buried with the grimoire" Alora said as she hopped in the passenger seat.

"So where do we go?" Alora looked out the window in thought, "a crystal shop?" she turned to Everett. He nodded "that works" he said before speeding down the road, Alora looked out the window as she recalled what had happened the last 3 months.

She hadn't realized they had already parked "you okay?" Everett asked as they got out, "yeah" she responded though she wasn't too sure herself. They walked into the store looking around, Alora walked over picking up the simple things like salt, matches, viles, sage, candles, and finally a needle. She walked to the cash register, Alora closed her eyes muttering something before pulling out a wad of cash.

"That will be $10.25" the cashier rung up, Alora handed her a 20 "keep the change" she smiled grabbing the bag as her and Everett walked out, "where are we doing this exactly?" Alora shrugged her shoulders. "Some alley way will do" she said trying to look for one, Everett pulled into a parking spot "can you find me a cup of water?" although confused he nodded before venturing off to find water.

Alora set up the ground as she laid candles before striking a match and lighting them, she set a map that she had gotten from their car on the ground before taking the needle and pricking herself. She closed her eyes chanting a spell as she felt her blood drip from her hand and hit the paper, Everett got back just in time because the lap lit on fire.

Sprinkling some of the water on they watched where the pendant could be, "New Orleans?" Everett spoke up. "That isn't good" Alora said as she got up picking everything up, "what, why?" Everett asked as they walked back to the car. "We'll for starters any witch, even one who's been asleep for a decade, knows that place is a no witch zone" Alora clicked her seatbelt on, "it's even worse because i'm a heretic meaning i'm to much of a witch to group with vampires, and to much of a vampire to group with witches" Everett started the car turning to the girl.

"So what's the plan?" he asked, Alora sighed "we have to go to New Orleans, without my magic i'd have to learn to conjure my vampire's side magic" Everett smiled turning back to the road, "i guess we're going to New Orleans" Alora turned to him smiling.
