"Livie!" Olivia looked up from her writing to see Becky had called out to her. Olivia smiled at her brightly. She hadn't seen Becky since being back at the stables.
"Hi Becky!" Olivia said brightly. Across from her, Pin looked up from his sketchbook for a moment to acknowledge Becky. Olivia hadn't known Pin drew before just an hour ago when he settled in front of her with a sketchpad. He drew and she wrote, in silence as always.
"Come on! There's so much I have to tell you about, I have a new Ghost Pony theory! Jade and Zoe don't wanna hear anything about it, but I know you'll listen, let's go!" She said, taking Olivia's wrist and dragging her up. As Becky led her god knew where, Olivia turned back towards Pin who was chuckling to himself and gave him a small wave.
Becky told Olivia all about how Ghost Pony's spirit needed to be set free, or something of the sort, and they were soon joined by Jade who started arguing with Becky on if Ghost Pony was real or not.
They soon reached the tack room, where Olivia intended to put away her notebook, and heard some voices inside. Marcus and Zoe, Olivia noted, recognizing their voices. Not wanting to interrupt, the girls stayed outside, until Marcus suddenly opened the door.
"Oh, hey guys!" Zoe said when she saw them. The three girls walked in, and, looking back one last time, Marcus walked out. Olivia went to store her notebook whilst Jade and Becky just looked at Zoe wide-eyed.
"Hey?" Said Zoe, getting creeped out after a while.
"Look at her, she has no idea," laughed Jade.
"Hot Marcus totally just asked you to the dance!" Becky exclaimed.
"No, he didn't, he's going with Mia, I saw him kiss her," Zoe said.
"Zoe, are you absolutely mental?" Olivia asked.
"What?" Zoe said in confusion.
"That boy is completely enamored with you, and you didn't even give him a chance to ask you before rejecting him!" She said, walking closer.
"No, he likes Mia, i'm sure," Zoe said.
"Look at me Zoe, do you like Marcus?" Olivia said, staring straight into Zoe's eyes.
"I— I guess so yeah," Zoe admitted.
"Then trust me, and go out there and ask him to the dance," Olivia said. Zoe stared at her for a moment before darting out of the room. Becky, Jade and Olivia looked at her go, squealing and smiling. After a moment of anticipation, they saw Zoe walk back into the room.
"So?!" Immediately asked Becky.
"He said yes!" Zoe said. The four girls squealed and hugged, happy for their friend. Eventually, Zoe had to go back to training, but Becky kept Olivia with her, still wanting to tell her about her Ghost Pony theories. Olivia wished she could've gone back to where she sat with Pin, but she supposed he was gone by now, it was rare that Pin had free time.
"There she is," Olivia heard Ben's voice from the entrance. He was followed by Rosie, who immediately went towards Becky.
"You're the expert on Ghost Pony, right?" She asked. Becky's face lit up.
"Yes! I mean, yes, that's me," she answered.
"I need to ask you some questions about Ghost Pony," Rosie said.
"With pleasure," Becky answered excitedly.
After many questions, much to the displeasure of Jade, Rosie had come to a conclusion.
"I know who the Ghost Pony is, and how to get rid of him," she said. "But first, my gramps told me to speak to this man," she added, unfolding a piece of paper. "Edward Hawthorne, where can I find him?" She asked. Olivia looked up at the mention of this name.
"That's Pin's father," Becky said.
"He'll probably be at his home," Olivia said. "I've been there a few times, I can lead you there, come on," Olivia said, getting up. Rosie followed her out. As they rounded the corner, Olivia noted that, as she'd expected, Pin wasn't there anymore. Walking a very long distance probably wasn't great for Olivia's ankle, but she hadn't felt the pain lately, so she supposed it was fine.
"It's right up there," Olivia said, pointing towards the house once they'd reached it. "Do you want me to wait here or can you find your way back?" She asked.
"I'm alright, thanks for the help Olivia," Rosie said, walking up to the house. As Olivia went to turn back, she noticed Pin was outside, and waved at him. Upon noticing her, the boy jogged over to meet her.
"What are you doing here?" He asked.
"Oh, Zoe's sister Rosie needed to see your dad for something, so I brought her here so she wouldn't get lost," explained Olivia. "So, how's our little moor pony?" Olivia asked, noticing Pin had been walking out of the crate.
"Amazing, I've never seen such a fast or drastic recovery, I was actually getting him ready to go back on the moor right now," Pin said.
"That's amazing! Need any help bringing him back out?" Olivia asked.
"That would be nice actually, I was gonna ask my dad, but it seems like Rosie needs his help," Pin said. He and Olivia made their way to the crate where the moor pony was now up and energized. Once the lead rope was secured around the pony, Pin dragged him towards the moor, Olivia at his side. Pin lived on the moor, so it wasn't long before they found the wild herd. Olivia was surprised to find she was actually a little sad to see the pony go as Pin crouched down and untied the rope from his neck. The pony nudged Olivia's leg making her lose her balance, not expecting all of her weight to shift to her injured ankle, Olivia stumbled into Pin.
"Sorry," she said sheepishly.
"No worries," he said, helping her back up. "Is your ankle alright?" He asked in concern.
"Yeah, don't worry about it," she laughed. They both watched in silence as the pony galloped over to the rest of the herd, and a tear even made its way onto Olivia's cheek.
Pin and Olivia then headed back towards Bright Fields, arriving just in time to see Zoe run through her jumps. They approached the fence and Olivia cheered for Zoe as she did her jumps. She was astounding for someone who'd barely been riding for a week, much less with a practically wild horse. After her course, Marcus encouraged Zoe to try the water jump. Everyone knew Raven wasn't a fan of water, and Zoe seemed hesitant, though she tried anyways. When Zoe tried the jump, Raven stopped short, as expected. Olivia saw her talk to Marcus for a bit, before she dismounted Raven and walked out of the paddock. Olivia turned to Pin to bid him goodbye, only to find him working away on his sketchpad once more. He looked up from his drawing to wave her goodbye, and Olivia then caught up to her friends. Zoe soon left, telling her friends she had something to do, and the three remaining girls made their way to the tack room, where Olivia took out her notebook. She'd just had a new idea for a poem.
