The harsh cold night winds nipped at his skin while the falling snow covered him like a wet blanket. Each step felt heavier than the last as he trek through the thick snow. One gloved hand held tightly on one of the two straps of his smuggler's bag as they were called.  The other hand held a metal flashlight to guide him to his destination. Even with the minuscule weight that was in the bag it still felt heavy as the drastic weather effected his stamina.

Seeing a house with its lights on gave the person hope as he saw the awake household. Pushing his exhausted body to its limits he rushed his way through the heavy snow to make it to the house. Stopping his steps as he made it to the front he proceeded to knock on the light oak door.

Within seconds the door was opened by a peach skin male with dirty blonde hair who looked to be in his late 30s with a confused tone the man asked the stranger "What do you want." He made sure to sound rude but rather in a skeptical way.

"Sorry to bother you at this h-hour." The man said as his teeth chartered from the cold. "But I have a package for Mr and Miss Winters."

"Honey can you close the door your letting the cold in." A woman now identified as Mia Winters walked up to her husband to see what was taking him so long. "Who this?"

The stranger at the front door replied to the woman's question "I'm just a delivery person her to deliver a package to the Winters." Taking off he backpack he proceeded to pull out a small cardboard package before handing it to the wife. "An with the package now delivered I bid you all a good night."

The woman quickly reached out to grab the man's are just as he was about to leave. "It's not safe out there. The weather said it's going to get worse overnight. How 'bout you stay with us for the night. Or at the very least let you warm up before you have to leave." She said in a caring voice. The husband was about to say something when his wife gave him a look that made him close his mouth

"Thank you for the hospitality." He said as he followed them inside.

His feet thumped as he wiped his boots on the doormat. Entering the couple's home he was greeted with a humble interior. Everything in the house seemed antique except for the kitchen as that had modern cooking equipment or from he could see at least . Spotting a coat rack to the right, he took off his beige parka to let it dry off as it hung.

The only things keeping the upper half of his body was his winter flannel shirt and white short sleeve underneath. Following the Winters down the hallway an to the left their, they led to a kitchen dining room combo. In the middle of the kitchen was a solid oak island. On top of the island laid a bottle of wine, a couple of plates with the larger one having a cut up piece of poultry with seasoned vegetables surrounding it, lastly was a enamel covered stock pot with some sort of red stew in it.

"If your hungry you can have a plate." Miss Winters said as her an her husband sat down at the table across.

Immediately the man raised his and politely declined "I can't. You and your husband's hospitality is already enough anymore an I would no more than a uninvited house guest."

The wife looked down in disappointment then smiled again. "Then will you answer some of our questions?"

"That I am comfortable with." He responded with as he nodded his head.

"What's your name?" Miss.Winters asked

"Cursor ma'am." He answered

"Well it obvious that your a mailman but why did you bring a package this late at night in this weather?" She questioned

Cursor chuckled for a before he responded "this may sound weird to you but I'm  extremely dedicated to my job. I never let a package be delivered late. No matter the weather, shall it be rain, snow, sleet or hail."

The woman nodded before going back to her questions "What made you want to be a mailman so passionate about your job?"

"Well it has to go back to the man who adopted me from a orphanage that did terrible things to kids. For that man was also a mailman. An like any child I asked why he likes his job. And to this day I holds the he said to heart as they inspired me to be come a mailman." Cursor took a second to pause before he carried on with his story

An in a old man voice he say "He goes son mail is one of the many things in this world that can't be replace with technology. It can help it go faster, but not replace it. Robots can break and need to be maintained. With people you just got to give them a reason to feel important or offer them a paycheck and they will walk through hell just to deliver a piece of paper to satan. We're so important to the world that if it wasn't for mailman some of history's most important events would have happened."

"That's great that someone like is following in their parents footsteps." Mr.Winters said in a kind tone as he nodded in agreement.

Suddenly a glass pane broke an something seemed to impact Miss.Winters then all power in the house went out. The should of been pitch black if it wasn't for the beam of a flashlight shining through the window on Miss.Winter. Moments after fell the lights fell on Miss.Winters, the glass windows shattered as gunshots rang out through the air.

Cursor quickly lowered himself to the floor as bullets flew overhead. Looking up from his prone positions he saw Miss.Winters on the ground riddle with bullets. Just when he thought the dust settle, heavy footsteps of boots echoed throughout the house. A large rugged man in a leather trench coat walked up to the end of the table.  Placing one hand at the end of the table he seemed to slide the table across the with little ease.

"Chris...!? What the hell!?" Mr.Winters shouted in a scared tone

"Sorry. Ethan." The man known as Chris said as he pointed the barrel of his gun down at his wife's body. Without hesitation he pulled trigger over and over till he empty the whole magazine into her.

As Ethan got up to attack Chris he was restrained by two men in all blacked out tactical gear.

Cursor also felt a pair of hands on both of his arms bring him up. Both him and Ethan are forced to the front hallway. As they brought to in, a soldier walked down the stairs with a crying baby in both hands. Then proceeded to hand the baby to Chris.

"What the hell you doing with my daughter. Get your hands off her!" Ethan yelled as he tried to grab his daughter but failed in a effort

"Take em away." Chris said to Ethan before having a soldier knock him out.

"Uhm what about the civilian sir?" One of his subordinates asked.

"Same for him too." Chris responded.
