Chapter Sixteen
Aylin

Leera and Raymen have distributed the crates of supplies Bo's rebels left on Concordia to the capital of Mandalore, and it gave me an idea. The Rebel Alliance left their base on Denova abruptly during an Imperial assault and a lot of their supplies were left abandoned. I talked with Governor Keres and he said we were free to take those supplies and distribute them on Taris. So that's exactly what Iris and I have done. Anything beats sitting in our offices on Coruscant, waiting for resources to grow back or this missing treasure trove of resources the Empire used to magically appear.

The royal guards are helping us in the distribution, excluding Han, who was left on babysitting duty by Jay, Luke, and Leia while they go to a Jedi temple for very vague reasons. When I asked Han about it, all he said was: "I never pay attention when they talk about mystical wizard shit."

He's standing a few feet away, the child in one arm, his hologram projector in his free hand. He appears to be talking to Bail Organa. I can only hope he's called to deliver good news. After a few more minutes of waiting in trepid anticipation, Han comes over to Iris and I and tells me what I had been hoping to hear:

"Bail just informed me that Hosnian Prime has been freed. Their forces, as well as Alderaan's, Denova's, and Ferros's are going to aid our struggles on Mon Cala."

"With their added assistance we should be able to free Mon Cala in no time." Iris says optimistically.

"I hope so. I'm going to contact Holly now and tell her the good news."

And with that, Han steps aside again, leaving Iris and I to digest this new information. I think after the last week we've had, we were in need of some good news.

"Mon Cala will help tide us over with food and supplies until other's are able to make their own."

I let out a sigh, looking over the quickly dwindling boxes from Denova. "It won't be enough."

"We'll make due." Iris assures me.

"Do you think Jay, Luke, and Leia are trying to use their Jedi powers to magically make more food for our people?" I ask hopefully.

Iris lets out a soft laugh, and that sound is enough to make me relax a little. "I may not know Jedi, but I know my sister, and whatever she and the boys are doing, they're doing it to help our people."

"I wish they would have told us why they were going before they left."

"They probably have a good reason."

"What makes you say that?"

"A sister's intuition."

"Your confidence is very reassuring."

Iris places a swift but tender kiss on my lips, and it makes me relax even more. "I live to please."

The last time we were at the Lothal Jedi temple, I found out that my mother was the queen of Taris. This temple showed me my destiny and started me on my path to becoming king. I can only hope this temple will once again provide wisdom, and give us the information necessary to keep the New Republic safe and thriving.

When we reach the temple, we go to the south side, just as Dad had instructed, and place our hands on the temple's wall. As one, we reach out with the force and ask the temple to open itself to us, and it does so with minimum effort. The temple groans and shifts for a moment, and then an opening appears in the wall. We peer inside this opening, and see nothing but a long hallway consumed by darkness. There's no telling how far the hallway goes, or where it will take us. I glance at my best friend and fiancé, then with a sigh, I enter the temple's opening. The others follow right behind me.
