The Guide

I started writing a part when I realised many wouldn't be reading or knowing about the general wolf pack Dynamics... Or important terms regarding them.. esp since this is a crossover fanfic.

P.S - I will be adding the concept/meaning in the chapters if necessary. This is a generalized slash modified version according to my book but instead of doing all the creatures I'm gonna do a werewolf glossary/guide type of thing coz it'll take forever and I'm lazy so there's that.

Warning (!) - There's a lot to read. This is not applicable to all the stories only mine. Ive made a lot of stuff up or modified stuff so that it makes sense. [PJO  Percy Jackson and the Olympians]

Key terms / Concepts:

(1) WEREWOLVES

- Lycanthropes or Lycans are the first Werewolves. - all werewolves are essentially related to Endymion since it all tracks back to him (check below for more info on them)..

o In pjo : Lycanthropes aka werewolves, are humans that were cursed and have the ability to shapeshift into wolf-like creatures. The first lycanthrope is Lycaon, their leader. Lycanthropes appear in many different cultures, more commonly known as werewolves, and they can only be killed by Silver. In both myth and popular culture, there are many ways of becoming a werewolf, with the most well-known one (which is used in many series) being if an existing werewolf bites you.

o Lycaon - in Greek Mythology, Lycaon, King of Arcadia, invited Zeus to dine with him. Lycaon wanted to know Zeus real name. To prove that Zeus really was who he said he was, Lycaon tried to feed him human flesh, (including meat from one of his own sons *cringe*). Then he hired assassins to attack Zeus while he slept to test the limits of his immortality. Zeus became so enraged he slew Lycaons sons with lightning bots and cursed Lycaon into being the first Lycanthrope.

1. Pack: A pack is a name used to describe a group of Wolves or other creatures together. They become a family

2. Types of Werewolves: Bitten, Born and Cursed Wolves

- Bitten wolves are the humans that became werewolves because of a Bite or a Scratch typically the Alpha would be the one to bite. These types of wolves can only Partially Shift. A wolfs bite can be very fatal to many creatures, thus If the bite doesnt kill them, then they become werewolves. Many are not strong enough to endure the bite and die. As they were not exactly meant to be wolves in the first place, they do not feel the connectivity to the moon or the lunar cycles. The full moon is very painful for them especially when they fight the inner wolves - the ones who embrace it can control it.

- Born Wolves are the werewolves which are werewolves because they carry the werewolf gene. Be it the gene from a Cursed werewolf or Bitten werewolf. Most of the time the Wolf triggers the wolf gene either due to something traumatic and they had to shift [i.e., protecting a loved one or abused into the shift], their genes [i.e., if their parents are hybrids (two different creatures such as Vampire/Werewolf Hybrid or Werewolf/Witch hybrid etc) they may shift early] or simply because of the fact their coming of age [see below]. These wolves can Partially and Fully Shift - this may differ from wolf-to-wolf. It is not necessary that all the members of the bloodline will have the Werewolf gene. Most of them may have them but can also live their entire lives as a human and not werewolves.
