United Again (REYNICO fanfiction)

Quest

Nico gives a whistle and Mrs. O'Leary appears as the campers are still trying to recover about what just happened. Reyna was still trying to grasp what had happen.

She felt helpless. She alone could not stop the Earth Mother and her children. Will rushes to Nico and Reyna armed.

"You two idiots promise me to come back. Alive. Preferably in one piece."

"My legs are just as good as the rest of me." Nico said sarcastically as he fasted his belt which hung his sword.

Reyna has began to focus of the grass as it got blurry and then even more blurrier.

"Reyna?" Will asked as he griped her shoulders and she meets him eye to eye, "You look like you're about to lose your lunch."

"It is fine. I need a moment to myself please." Reyna said as she breaks away from all the campers.

She goes to the beach and looks out over the clam surface. Thinking to herself this could very well be he last day at Camp Half Blood.

"Mother." Reyna said softy, "This quest could determine they faith of not only myself by many others that will follow after me. If I am to die on this quest I ask for one thing that I can prevent many deaths. My death in exchange for the lives as as many demigods both Greek and Roman. I wish to not die in vain mother. That is all I ask."

Once she finishes the air around her stirs slightly warmer air making her clothes shift as well as her hair that is falling apart from her tight braid.

Reyna walks over to the Hades Cabin changes into a fresh set of clothes packing a small back pack of items she will need.

There was a soft starching at the door and Argentum and Aurum appear and Reyna drops her dagger as her dogs run around her.

She puts their heads as the run between her legs and around her in a circle.

"Hey." Reyna said kneeling as they sit staring at her with ruby eyes that glitter, "I need you to stay here to wait for me. Until I get back go it?"

Once she uttered those words it sounded bitter in her mouth. The words only half true.

They nuzzle her hair and obey her orders like aways. They were as loyal as any dog could ever be. But they mean so much more then just dogs to Reyna.

With one final pat she walks out the cabin grabbing her sword savoring the moment of being in a place she has began to feel more and more like home to her.

No matter what Camp Jupiter was her home but now Camp Half Blood was too. It was a home. Her home and she was going to protect it.

"Are you ready?" Nico asked his voice was low so only Reyna could hear it.

"A much better question is are you ready?" Reyna challenges as she pulls him up on top of Mrs. O' Leary.

A few feet away she sees Charlie looking straight into her eyes. Aaron with a sad smile Jordan looks with glossy eyes.

'Be safe.' Charlie whispers as throws something in the air that was meant for Reyna. She catches it and a gold coin glitters in her hand.

And together Nico and Reyna dissolve into a shadows.

Shadow travel was like swimming in a strong current. You go with the flow. If you put up resistance if could end up with very badly. After about half an hour, or however long it was it was hard to tell here Reyna speaks up.

"Do you know how long the jump will take?" Reyna asked over the howls and screams if the shadow she had elected to ignore. {see my little reference *wink*wink*}
