[No One's POV]
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY RICHIE!!"
Richie's mouth was hanging. Literally. When Mike meant by a 'Suprise', he didn't think it would be something like this. He hadn't even mentioned his birthday before, how'd they find out? And even if anyone did know, they didn't celebrate it and he'd never questioned it before. He would usually just treat himself to ice cream and secretly go to the quarry to watch the sunset.
He could feel the bundle of tears trying their best to break through and overflow. But it wasn't the time, and it never will be. They don't need to know, them being beside him was enough by itself. He doesn't deserve it.
'And I never will'
But saying that he wasn't happy right then would be a lie. He was beyond happy, elated even. He smiled fondly at his friends,
"Thanks everyone, I really mean it"
"Aww, No problem Richie"
Bev chuckled as she pulled all the boys into a hug
"Your the best batch of friends I could have ever asked for"
"Don't get all sappy now! Cut the cake already"
Oh my God, Don't ruin the moment!"
~{Timeskip}~
"Okok! This is great and all, but when will I be able to open the presents?! They're literally piercing into THOU'S soul!"
Richie whined dramatically, draping his hands over his head like a damsel in distress.
"Then we shall let them PIERCE into THOU'S soul, so we don't bleed from our ears"
Stan sarcastically remarked, making Richie gasp in Shakespeare
"See, this is why I told you guys it wasn't a good idea to watch Romeo and Juliet. Look what chaos is unfolding now!"
Everyone exchanged slight awkward looks before bursting into fits of laughter.
After everybody had calmed down, they decided that it was best to do present opening next, not admitting that they were excited themselves.
~{Timeskip}~
By the time Richie had opened all his presents, he was already covered in piles of wrapping paper. Literally. They had to pull the boy out of the flood of wrapping paper. Let's just say that Mike surprisingly REALLY likes wrapping presents and has WAY too much wrapping paper just lying around his house.
"Thanks for all the gifts guys! I feel like a king on his throne of wrapping paper"
"Don't get too cocky yet big gay, there's still one more left"
Richie gave the girl a confused look as she handed him a small box.
"This is a special gift from me and Stan"
He took off the lid of the box, revealing a weird-looking thing with two circular things on the sides.
"Umm...Bev, My gal, I really love the idea but what in the actual hell is this thing-a-ma-jig?"
Bev laughed as she saw Stan rolling his eyes and dropping his head into his hands.
"These are called 'Contact Lenses', If you wear these you don't have to wear your glasses"
"Really? That's actually possible?" Richie asked, dumbfounded.
"Of course it is you big dummy. Come on now, the rest of you have to leave for a while"
"What? Why do we have to leave?"
Eddie whined. He had heard from someone that contact lenses are really hard to put on and he'd wanted to see Richie struggle. He looked silly when he got frustrated.
"Nonono, You, Ben, Mike, and Bill all have to leave. Me and Stan can help him put it on"
Bev could see Eddie pouting,
"Oh, don't worry Eddie. I'm sure you're going to LOVE this~"
Eddie looked at her, questioning her sanity before being rushed out by Stan.
Stan and Beverly looked at each other, as if they were reading each other's minds, and nodded in unison as they had a look of confidence on their faces. Whatever they were thinking, Richie was terrified to find out. Those two together never ends well...
~{Timeskip}~
After hearing a bunch of 'IT'S NOT GOING IN!', 'WHY DO I HAVE TO DO THIS!?', Various insults, swear words, and screeches, the three of them finally came out.
Eddie couldn't take his eyes off of him
The way his eyes looked in the tiny specks of sunlight that was let through the huge trees.
God, it was breathtaking...
He could feel himself turning in an overly ripped tomato. He could basically hear Beverly and Stan grinning triumphantly in the corner, Damn those two. He quickly looked away, not wanting to take any more damage but before he could do anything else his hand was quickly grabbed by someone and was placed on their cheek. He looked up and saw that it was non-other than the birthday boy himself.
"Do I look okay? Is it gross?"
Eddie's eyes widened, how could he think that he looked gross?
"NO, Uh-I mean, you look great. Like- Really great..."
"Really?"
"Yes, Really! You big doofus.."
Richie grinned as he thanked him, the slight pink in his cheek contrasting with his dark brown eyes. Even being dark they somehow managed to sparkle.
Just like him...
