Cathy's P.O.V

"So, Cats. How was fishing with your dad?" Harry asked.

I forgot that I told him I went fishing with my dad instead of telling him I went to Zayn's house.

"It was fun. He fell into the water. I remember when I was a little girl me, my mom and my dad went fishing every weekend."

Remembering my mom hurts but what hurts more is that she's gone and I can't do any thing about it. I really, really miss her. Every time my friends back in L.A said they hated thier mom I wanted to beat the shit out of them.

People should really appreciate what their mothers do for them. Mothers don't last long in this world. God just lets us borrow them for a while, but not long enough. Some mothers die when they give birth, some get shot, some get beat to death by their own husbands and some just...just....just die out of no where. I saw my own mother DIE in front of me. Do you now how that feels? How traumatic that is? I went to therapy for that shit! 2 fucking years of therapy and I still can't get over this shit!

"Where's your mom?" He asked.

"She's dead." I manage to choke out.

"Shit man, sorry I- I didn't mean to- I thought-"

"No Harry, its okay, I get it you didn't know."

" I'm still sorry I shouldn't have asked."

"No, its fine really."

"You sure?" He asks.

"Can we please talk about some thing else?" I plead.

"Sure....umm...your birthdays coming up right?" Ha asks.

"Yea..." I sigh. "I really dont like my birthdays." I tell him.

"When is it?"

"Tomorrow." I respond

"Are you kidding me?!? You could have told me sooner, I would've bought you a gift or something!" He says.

"I'm good. All my Pops does is go to KFC and buys the cake from there then comes home and puts some candles on it."

Now that I think of it it's not much of a birthday.

"But like, sense you guys are rich, Why doesn't he throw you a big party? If you don't mind me asking."

"I already told you, I don't like my birthday and-" I was interrupted by my phone viberating in my back pocket. When u look at the screen its my dad calling.

"Hold on," I say while holding a finger up to silence him. He nods and waits for me to answer.

"What-up Pops." I say in to the little speaker.

"Hey Cathy...umm...where are you?" That's weird, Pops seems nervous about some thing. He never says 'umm' unless he's hidding something or is trying to tell me something awkward.

"I'm with Harry at the thearter. We just got here. Its a long line. Why?"

"Just asking..." He says.

"Dad..."I say.

"What time are you gonna be home?"

"I don't know. Dad are you okay?" I'm beginning to get worried.

"Come home...I...I want you to meet some one." His voice is still unsure.

"Dad, you're scarring me!" I almost scream. Harry looks at me worriedly.

"Cathy is everything alright?" He asks. But I ignore, not on perpous but because I'm worried about Pops.

"Just come home." And then he hangs up.

"Harry, take me home." I say quickly and walk towards his car.

Once we get in the car, he pulls out of the parking lot and asks, "Is every thing alright Cathy? You're frightening me."

"My dad...he's.... I don't know...he sounded weird on the phone. He wasn't his normal self and....I...I don't know." I tell him.

"It'll be fine." Harry assures me. He puts his hand on my thigh and squeezes gently.
