"So you're telling me that Jinha told her teacher that I roam around the house in a towel?" Jungkook scoffs and runs a hand over his face. Oh, he's so done for.

"Yes, she didn't even greet her and straightaway blurted it out. The worst thing was that her teacher didn't stop laughing about it!" you say, voice laced with irritation. Owing to the tinted cheeks and ears, the teacher surely imagined your husband shirtless.

"Anyway, dinner's ready," you say. Jungkook nods and sits down on the chair with a loud sigh. "Where's Jun?" he asks.

"Don't know. He didn't even have his dinner properly. He has been going around the whole house, messing up things," you mumble.

"Why?" Jungkook chuckles.

"He said he lost a small notebook," you say nonchalantly.

"A notebook?" Jungkook raises his eyebrows.

"Yes, he lost a mere notebook and is causing so much fuss over it!" you exasperate. He had removed all the boxes from the kitchen shelf, dishevelled your bed, left his dinner midway and most importantly, kept mumbling stuff to himself.

"It wasn't a mere notebook!" Junho barges into the living room. You and Jungkook turn your heads towards him. "Mom, why did you clean my room and touch my things?" he whines.

"If you don't want me to, then keep your room clean," you sigh and help Jungkook with the dinner.

"It wouldn't have been lost if you weren't so nosy!" he hollers and bangs his palm against the wall, in frustration.

Jungkook's eyes darken. He can understand the desperation to get his book back but he won't allow behaviour. You flinch a bit at the sudden rise in his voice and squint your eyes, not understanding his fuss over a small notebook.

Jungkook removes a coffee washed notebook from the inner pocket of his jacket, "Is this the one you are talking about?" Jun's eyes widen as the notebook comes in his sight, feet automatically moving forward to take it from his dad's hands. But Jungkook's faster, he raises the book high enough to where his son has to jump and take it from his hands. He eyes the notebook front and back.

"Dad, why do you have it?"  Junho says, clearly annoyed. "You don't have the right to touch my things!"

"You better behave, Jeon Junho!" you sternly say.

"Is this how it is gonna be now? 'My things'?" Jungkook says, bringing his hand down. He is not understanding why his son has his guards up for a notebook.

Junho snatches the notebook from his dad, glaring right into his eyes. You could see his chest heave up and down, showing how angry he was and was holding back. You couldn't figure out what he was getting so worked up for.

"What is in there?" Jungkook asks, standing straight. "A bunch of words," Junho spats.

"Aww, that's cute," Jungkook shakes his head and sits back on his chair. "You don't have to hide it Junho. Everyone does that in school . . .after all high school love is cute. Wow. . .You have finally grown up enough to write love letters now," Jungkook chuckles. He had never expected Junho to be the old school type who writes poems and letters to the one he has a crush on.

"Bullshit," Junho says. "I am not following here,"

"Language Junho!" you raise your voice.

"How can you touch something that is mine! And you even read it! Can I get some private space in this house!" Junho's loud voice echoes in the empty living room.

"You have been wasting your time on these things when you should study for your entrance exams. I should-"

"Lyrics! They are lyrics of the song I am writing!" Junho blurts out, making you both freeze. He widens his eyes, realising what he just said. His brain is only telling him to just run. Like he always has.

"What?" you say, completely puzzled at the words that left his mouth. He hesitates to speak further when he sees his father unmoving. He isn't sure if the latter is breathing at all or not. Give it a shot, or lose the chance forever Junho, he convinces himself.

"I want to be an idol, like you both!"

It becomes silent again. Something shifts in the air, and all you could hear Jungkook's heavy breathing matching with the clicking sound of the clock. You eye the smallest movement of your husband, trying to understand what was going on in his head.

Junho wanting to become an idol . . . wasn't a big shock for you since it could be expected. After all, he grew up in an environment highly influenced by music and fame but you knew that Jungkook was against his children choosing this career.

He kept them away from any possible influences that would encourage this dream as much as he could. You never could tell why, or ask him because you thought he had a reason. Now that this actually happened, you are amused by Jungkook's silence.

Junho's inner self is debating if telling you both was a correct option or not. He wants to say something but a lump in his throat is not letting him. It scares him—the silence in this room. His dad's eyes, which seemed to have stop blinking as soon as he heard the word 'IDOL',  were fixed on Junho's now.

Junho couldn't comprehend the situation. He expected to be praised, scolded, and even sent to the boarding school in the worst case. Countless situations went through his mind daily, making him think of the possible reactions of his parents but here we are.

None of his thoughts came true, but something unexpected. Complete silence.

And then Jungkook gets up, running a hand through his hair, "We will talk later,"

"Why later dad-"

"Later," Jungkook interrupts sternly, emphasising his point and walks to his bedroom.

You sigh looking at the untouched food. Junho looks at you and his eyes immediately glisten with tears. Before you could approach him, he rushes inside his room, leaving you to stare at the closed doors, debating which one to knock on.
