✓It had infact gotten dark by the time that we reached the Eternal Paradise. I held Miss Yukiyo's hand and guided her along the path since we had no real light source and only I could guide us due to my enhanced eyesight.
It was a cloudy night and the trees overhead where thick, so we received little to no help from the moon in terms of lighting.
Thankfully, we had no issues reaching the residence and we were greeted by the warm glow of a lantern when the building entered our view. I already knew who it was that held the lantern.
Kokushibou.
My blood boiled as the need for justice rose in my chest. However, I did not let my rage blind me, if I was to let that happen I worry that something bad could come to the gentle lady that clinged to my arm.
By the time we neared the entrance I could tell that Douma was also back, and there was another demon accompanying him in his throne room, one that I had not encountered before.
I walked past Kokushibou and entered the building, trying to pay little to no mind to him. Yukiyo whispered a gentle greeting to him before the door slide shut, not daring to look up at the man. Even she could sense the danger that radiated off of him. It was like prey in the presence of a predator.
I wondered why she didn't notice it with Douma too.
It didn't take alot of brain power for me to conclude that Kokushibou was here for me. Douma had mentioned many times that Upper Moon One was eventually going to come around.
Kibutsuji wanted him to finish what Natsuyo had started.
I lead the woman to the pantry and helped her put away the herbs and goods. She thanked me a final time and we bid eachother a goodnight before I headed to my room with the Sake that I had purchased earlier that day.
I had however, no intentions of relaxing yet, because when I opened the door I was greeted with Upper Moon One once more.
"It is improper to enter a ladies quarters without an invitation." I sneered in a low voice.
The demons six eyes shifted from my obviously displeased face down to the hilt that peaked out from my haori.
"I see that you did not reject my offering." His deep, almost monotone voice noted as if he wasn't actually speaking to me.
"A weapon is a weapon, and I'll make you regret ever giving this blade to me."
How ironic would it be for me to kill this demon with the very blade he's gifted me.
It was silent for a moment till he gestured towards a change of clothing neatly folded on top of my desk.
"His Majesty wants me to finish teaching you. Change and then we'll be off."
Then Kokushibou walked past me, sparing one last glance before sliding the door shut behind himself.
I threw the Nichirian sword from my side and picked up the folded clothes. The loud clattering of the sword hitting the wall may have awoke some of the ladies in the residence, but it didn't matter. They never make an effort to be quiet when I'm sleeping.
