Life with Douma was getting annoying. And every other week it seemed like I was with Kokushibou for an endless amount of time in the Infinity Fortress. He once said that I was progressing well, better than expected and that stuck with me. I've never been one to slack when it came to training, however now it became an option I had to seriously debate if I wanted to stay human. With Douma and Akaza fully on board with turning me, my only option was to delay the transformation enough for me to actually escape.
Today was one of my days to train in the Infinity Fortress, and because of the first time I was here, I began my constant breathing training once again, which proved to be much easier when I wasn't being beaten to a pulp. I had perviously learned that all twelve moons besides Kokushibou were forbidden from being here while I was, the only exception being the demon who controls this place. However today as we approached a new platform, I could sense Akaza's presence.
"Why is he here?" I asked the much taller demon that accompanied me.
"He asked if he could lead your training session for once, and seeing as he specialized in hand to hand combat rather than swordsmanship, that man agreed to allow him."
"So... will I still get to use my sword?" I asked, remembering what had happened last time that I scuffled with Akaza without any weapons.
"Yes, but don't fight him like how you would fight me, your little murder attempts might actually work on him and if I see you go for one of them I will step in. And not for his sake." Kokushibou's six brilliant red eyes locked onto me, this was a serious threat.
"Ok..." I submitted. I guess I could atleast use this opportunity to get some payback atleast.
"HEY!?" a booming shout came from upper moon three as we neared.
"You seriously think this chick could kill me? Well, Kokushibou, even after all this time it seems like you don't actually know anyone. What a shameless personality."
Upper moon one's face contoured into a frown but he stayed silent. He never seemed like the type to humor those that sought poorly of him. Out of the top three he was most definitely the most mature.
"Come on girly, hit me with everything you've got, make this a fun fight." Akaza taunted.
I looked up to Kokushibou, waiting to see if I needed a sign to begin but his eyes were already dead locked onto me, reminding me of his earlier warning. So, I began.
Within a single breath I was behind Akaza, however he wasn't startled. These demons have delt with more than their fair share of demon slayers over the years and have picked up onto their tricks. And Instead of lashing out onto me, Akaza jumped out of the way and avoided the immediate slash of my sword.
"Gonna have to do better than that sweetheart."
I grimaced at the pet name. It was a strange thing to hear from an opponent.
'First form: Dark Moon Evening Palace.'
I slashed my blade out again. Long ranged attacks would be ideal for fighting a demon who's only a closed ranged opponent, but the thing is long ranged it too slow and easy for a demon like him to dodge, which is exactly what he did.
However, thats what I was planning on. Before his feet could touch the ground again I was already waiting for him. Since my sword was limited to one shape unlike Kokushibou's, not all of my moon attacks were as effective as his, but I've learned how to turn the down fall into my favor with mobility.
'Fifth form: Moon Sprit Calamitous Eddy.'
On the first slash of this attack, Akaza had to block by using his arm, in which became almost completely shredded. On the second slash, he managed to reach the ground and swooped down to dodge.
