Kozume Kenma wanted to be in love and wanted to be loved. All of his friends had partners and it was starting to get to him. Even freaking Lev finally grew the balls to ask out Yaku last month. Most people thought that he was already taken, most assumed that Kurro was his boyfriend for years, and hearing Kuroo reject the idea each time didn't hurt any less.

When Hinata came over that night, it consisted of lots of crying and ice cream down his throat. He was sick of being single. He needed a boyfriend and he wanted one now.

So when the setter from fukurodani texted him on Instagram, Kenma jumped at the opportunity to get to know the boy. It worked well too, since he knew Akaashi Keiji was Bokutos right hand, he also knew that if their best friends started dating, Kenma wouldn't have to really give up his Kuroo.

Hinata made a face when he told him about his plan, " I don't know Kenma...this just seems like someone is gonna get hurt."

"No I'll be careful, I'm not gonna lead him on or anything. I'm just getting to know him, maybe I might fall in love with him. All I know is that this crush on Kuroo isn't going anywhere and it's never gonna happen. I have to do something about it. Which means date other people." Kenma explained to his friend, sitting across from him as he lays out his blankets for the night.

"Yeah but...you're still gonna be using him. At least until you get over Kuroo, which who knows how long that'll be." Hinata tries to reason with him. Sitting down and stretching his feet out.

"I knooow but what am I supposed to do? He doesn't like me, and that isn't gonna change so I have to stop the crush."

The carrot top nods softly in understanding, "Just start talking to him, don't rush into anything."

Kenma nods in confirmation, "Yes, I'll just talk, go on dates and stuff, nothing more until I am completely over Kuroo."

Hinata is about to respond when he gets a text message, Kenma can tell by the look on his face that it's from Kags and sighs, knowing they're gonna be texting for a few minutes. Kenma takes the chance to look at the message again from Akaashi and he smiles softly 

Akaashi_K: Hey, you were amazing during our match the other day. Do you think you can teach me how to direct the ball so accurately?

Kenma grins seeing the message, the setter from fukurodani was incredibly talented, there wasn't a reason for him to need tips from Kenma. Meaning, he wanted to try and get to know him better, he has to admit, Akaashi was extremely attractive, he might as well go for it.

K.Kenma: You don't have to try and teach your way into a date, we all know you're way better then me with your sets. So try asking me out again. 

He blinks at the message for a few times, his face heating up from the sudden rush of boldness through his body. Since they didn't know each other that well, it was easier to be more confident in his word choices with the second year. 

Akaashi_K: Ha okay then, Kozume-san, would you like to hang out Friday night? 

K.Kenma: Eh I might be busy

Akaashi_K: tease

K.Kenma: *attachment of address* I'll see you at 7 

Kenma sees a heart show up under his message and he squeals, throwing his phone in shock, "Shouyo! What the hell did I just do?!"

Hinata jumps in shock and looks at him, "What? what did you do?"

"I set up a date with Akaashi on Friday." Kenma stands up and paces, "Holy shit, Ive never been on a date before." 

Hinata stands with him, "It's okay! We'll make sure you'll look nice, where are you going?"

"I have no idea." He groans and flops onto his small bed, face first into the pillow. What was he thinking, he doesn't have the first clue on what dot do on dates, and shouyo isn't any better, his first date was with his now boyfriend. He doesn't have any dating experience, the only other person he would ask would be Kuroo and there is no way he's gonna let that boy know he has a date. He'll try and follow him to it and he doesn't need that extra pressure on him. 

He was gonna have to try and figure this out himself, which he didn't want to do but it was his only option. Hinata blabs about all the different places that Akaashi could take him to but Kenma kinda wants it to stay a surprise, he wants to see how well Akaashi does.

Once the two boys settle down, Kenma tells hinata that it was now kageyama hour, which meant he either got an hour to talk to Kags on the phone or he could spend an hour talking about kageyama to Kenma. The boy chooses the latter and he starts talking to him about the date they went on and what they did. Even though Kenma would rather die then hear him constantly talk abbot his boyfriend, it does make him happy to see how well kags treats his friends dn how even after a year, Hinata still blushes when hearing his name. He was extremely jealous but also as happy as can be for his friend and his lover. 

As the night progresses and Hinata sleeps beside him after talking his ear off about his lover boy, Kenma gets ready for bed and smiles while he looks on his phone and scrolls through Akaashi pictures. He was extremely good looking, his face flushes at the fact that this pretty boy texted him first, his face heats up even more as he imagine the date they're going on in just a few days.

Even if he is just trying to get over his childhood crush, he might actually find someone to call his by the end of this. He really really wouldn't mind if it was Akaashi.
