In the Corner

It has been a few weeks since you've woken up. You have complied to what the Avengers ask of you to do but you haven't revealed anything about your gift. As they are very interested in it.

In fact, you haven't talked at all much less even left your room. Ever since hearing them misgender you, you've just shut down. These heros, your role models, have managed to trigger you in the worst way under a short amount of time once met.

"Alright." Your head snapped up to a woman entering your room. She had red hair and was wearing casual clothing, but you knew somewhere she must of had a knife. "You haven't answered any questions, so either you speak up or we start to do this the hard way."

She pulled up a chair across from you and sat down.

Her intimidation tactic worked, for the first time in weeks you opened your mouth.

"Let me go."  Your voice was weak, but your native language managed to roll off your toungue. The woman lifted her head and raised an eyebrow.

Right, English.

"Sorry...please, let me go. I helped your friends during the battle, I saved some of them too. I just want to go home." You sounded like you've been beat up.

"I'm afraid we can't let someone with your skill set leave this building."

"Where even am I?"

"You're at the Avengers headquarters."

You looked around. Your room was a modern style one with a white and black color scheme. It was very nice looking, clean yet the only furniture in there was a bed, chair and sofa.

Now that you think of it, it kind of does look like it'd be in the Avengers HQ.

"Hey, you didn't answer me." You were brought out of your thoughts when a very annoyed Black Widow snapped at you.

You clenched the soft blanket under your fingers for comfort. "What was it?"

"Are you willing to answer my questions or are we going to have to do this the hard way?"

You gulped, knowing she was nothing but serious. "I will comply."

"Good." She smiled and took out a notepad. "How long have you gotten your powers?" She clicked her pen.

"All my life."

You heard writing as she jotted down something. "And what do you do with them?"

"Protect my home."

She nodded almost approvingly. "Your name?"

You paused, still not sure what to call yourself before thinking of a name that you always liked. "Y/N L/N."

"And finally what are you going to do if we let you out?"

You looked up at the ceiling. "Continue my purpose, saving and protecting my homeland."

Her pen clicked again and she stood up. "Thank you for your cooperation. I honestly didn't want to harm you, I'm glad you complied." She gave you a weak and almost shy smile.

Black Widow walked out of the room. It was only a few minutes before a man entered.

It was Nick Fury.
