*School Bell*
Finally lunch time! I wait a few minutes to make sure no one will run me over.
"Aren't you gonna pack up?" I hear Liam ask from behind me. Great, he was waiting for me. I nod starting to quickly put the stuff on my desk into my backpack.
"Do you have a lunchbox or are you eating the school lunch?" I ask him, puting the last of my stuff away.
"I have a lunchbox. No way am I going to eat the school lunch on my first day!" He replied laughing. I grab my compactable cane from my backpack and stand up.
"Why do you need that?" I hear him ask as I start to walk towards where the door is. I am so glad I have a good memory or I would hit so many walls.
"Stairs." Was my only reply anger in my voice. I HATE those things! Even when I could still see I hated them! I always end up tripping and nearly falling!
"Yikes, that must be hard, do you need any help getting down?" He asks, his footsteps speeding up.
"Sure!" I reply happily. In all honesty I will take any help offered to me when it comes to stairs, considering I have already fallen down them dozens of times. My pace slowed till I heard his footsteps right next to me.
"Hey, Callie?"
"Yes?"
"Can you tell me about the people here? Like which ones should I befriend and which ones should I avoid?"
"Sure! Three people you should definitely befriend are Spirit, Kai, and Blackberry. Spirit and Kai are twins while Blackberry is their older sister, and they are the three most powerful kids in this school." I said happily. I hear his footsteps stop suddenly, him grabbing my arm forcing me to a stop as well.
"What is it? Why did we stop?" I ask confused. I hear him laugh loudly.
"We are at the staircase, one more step and you would have fallen!" His laughs died down a bit as I start to laugh.
"Well, thank you for saving me." I tell him as he guides me down the stairs carefully.
"How are they the most powerful kids? What's so important about them?" He asks me.
"Well first of all, Spirit has friends EVERYWHERE, touch her and you will be hated by pretty much everyone in the school. Second, Kai is the most popular guy in the school and also one of the smartest, believe me people will believe pretty much everything he says. Third, Blackberry runs a 'gang' of sorts in this school. It is mostly just her and her friends causing trouble or skipping class but everyone is scared of getting on their bad side, even the teachers. Fourth and the most important reason is because of the type of hybrids they are." I explained going down the final few steps.
"Alright then, do you know what Kai and Blackberry look like?" Is he joking?
"No, Im blind." I tell him bluntly.
"S-Sorry! I forgot for a second!" I burst out laughing.
"It's fine. Not the first time someone has forgotten about it." I say in between laughs.
"You said that it was also because of the type of hybrids they are, do you know what that is?" He asks me as we enter the cafeteria. I shake my head.
"Not really. I know what species their mom is, a wolf and cat hybrid, but any time I ask them about their father they change the subject. Also they won't directly tell anyone what type of hybrid they are, so touchy subject I guess?" I say, trying to explain the best I can. Before he can reply I feel someone hug me from behind.
"Cal! We were all wondering when you would show up! Oh, who's your new friend?" I smile to myself before answering her.
"Hey Loli, This is Liam. Liam this is Lola but everyone calls her Loli." I say introducing them to each other. Knowing Loli she just nodded a hello to him. I chuckle walking over to where I normally sit, counting in my head. I hear Loli saying something behind me but I can't hear her over the ruckus of the cafeteria. Just as I was approaching the table I hear someone yell at me.
"What do you think you're doing!?" I immediately back up knowing that voice as one of Blackberry's friends.
"S-Sorry!" Was all I was able to say before I hear a loud thud and someone cry out in pain.
"That's what you get for yelling at a blind girl!" I hear Blackberry yell from the seat I was going to sit in. I was about to sit in the same seat as Blackberry. Great, just great.
"Sorry for his behaviour Callie, did you need anything?" I hear her ask me and I smile brightly.
"Nope! Sorry for bothering you Blackberry!" I say waving goodbye to her and walking back to where Loli and Liam were before.
"H-HOW?!?" They both said in unison as I walked past them. I laughed, not surprised by their reaction.
"Blackberry may be scary but she has a heart and doesn't allow her friends to harm anyone who doesn't deserve it." I say happily, turning to face them.
"Who are we sitting with today?" I ask Loli, hoping she knows.
"We are sitting with Mellon, Mousy, Kai, Spirit, Tuck, and Angel." Loli said, sighing.
"Tuck and Angel? Those two are willing to sit at the same table? Without LOV?" I ask, shocked.
"Yeah, apparently Lily needed a break from them nearly constantly yelling and bickering, and since it would be rude to have only one of them sit with her she sent them to us." Well at least we are helping LOV from losing her mind.
"I'm sorry but her name is LOV or is that just a nickname?" I hear Liam ask and Loli chuckles.
"Nickname. Her real name is Lily of the valley, no one knows her last name and she never mentions it so everyone just calls her L.O.V. or Love for short." Loli replies calmly. "One thing you need to know, never question someone if you think it's personal. If they obviously leave something out or change a subject leave it be. Lots of people here don't exactly have good pasts so it's best not to bring personal stuff up."
"Alright then thank you for telling me." I hear Liam say from behind me. Each step we take the closer the sound of yelling gets. Great, they are already at it.
