The next day, 10:23 a.m., London, England
Y/n's Point of View
Like I was told by Dokkaebi, I was standing at the ferris wheel, kicking a pebble while waiting for whoever was coming to meet me.
I look down at my phone and text Eliza, who hasn't spoken to me in years. There was a chime behind me, but it was quite crowded, so I ignored it.
Then, someone cleared their throat. I flip myself around, seeing the same redhead from over a month ago.
"Yes, ma'am?"
"Don't 'yes, ma'am' me. And I suspected it, you're still weird." She laughs, her leather-clad body wiggling around. "Don't recognize me, Y/n?"
I shake my head, only remembering a few redheads in my life. "No... No... Did I go to school with you?"
"No. I was at college when you were brought to Jerusalem. How's it going, baby brother?" Eliza said, smiling before hugging me. "You're still a damn nerd."
"And you're not? You just took my target a month ago without telling me what happened. Also, I don't look that bad, do I?"
Eliza shook her head, running a thumb on my mostly-healed scar. "No, but I didn't want you getting any ideas in that bar... That would've been gross... Anyway, your scar, I think puts girls off. Though, you may have a chance with another operator."
I roll my eyes as she babies me. "Stop! I'm itchy." She laughs and lets go, walking away as I follow her. "So what's all this Rainbow Six stuff about?"
"Like you heard our other ops say, it's counter-terrorism. We had to take that bastard in for interrogation, where he broke like a twig in the hands of a bodybuilder." Eliza put her hands in her jacket pockets. "We still have him alive if you want to finish the job. And you're welcome for lunch yesterday."
I push her playfully, standing a good five inches over her. She stumbles and pushes me, a little sibling rivalry we've never had.
"Oh, about Iana..." She started. "I don't want you dating her. I don't think you two would look cute together."
"Well that's dumb. I wouldn't look good with anyone with this scar I have under my eye. Unless you have someone who has one like me."
Eliza looked up at me, raising an eyebrow. "And you still don't know how to listen. The girl has a disease where her extremities go numb and has a larger scar on her cheek to forehead. She is badass, and everyone loves her."
I shrug, watching my step while dodging some civilians. "Well... I.. Uh... You're an asshole. I'm trying to make you laugh."
"Oh, you are. Believe me. I just don't see you two together, though, the two of you do seem quite flirty with each other." Eliza chuckles, heading to a bakery. "I'm quite hungry. Do you want something?"
I shake my head, yawning as I tried to get some more sleep in, which failed. Eliza nodded as we went inside, going to the register and buying a cinnamon bun, coming back.
"I bet you would like the street food. It's everything around here. Barbecue, Argentinean food, burgers, anything you can think of." Eliza said, taking a bite. "We don't have your dorm room quite ready, so we're going to spend some time in London before we leave."
"You guys expected someone to join, but don't have the living space ready? What's in there, weapons, electronics, and explosives?"
Eliza took another bite, nodding. "Precisely. We're trying to fix up the Research team's department, and our armory is being revamped."
I raise both of my eyebrows as we continue to walk around the city. It was nice, but very, very crowded. Soon, I got a notification from someone named Grace, who had texted me, saying, 'Welcome to the team! We're getting your dorm ready, and not looking like you're going to be living in a warzone! :> Dokka'.
"I'm guessing Grace is Dokkaebi?" I ask, looking at the text.
"Mhmm... I can sense that your dorm is not being fixed and she is going to prank you." Eliza yawned. "More than likely, she has added everyone's number to your phone through her own private network called 'RaiNetwork'. She's weird like that."
We laugh about it, continuing on with our journey through London. A tall man was holding a camera, talking into it while he wore a beanie and glasses. He doesn't have the same accent as most of the locals, but I guess he was a tourist making a video.
Soon, after hours of fooling around, it was lunchtime. Eliza took me over to a few stands, where she ordered us ribs and pulled pork sandwiches. Of course, being the big sister she is, she paid.
"You're gonna love this. When Thatcher took me here, it was to die for." Eliza smiled.
"Thatcher? Margaret Thatcher?" We walk off to the side, waiting for our food.
Eliza laughed, nodding. "I mean, sorta. His name is Mike. His codename is Thatcher, and yes, Margaret Thatcher."
I hum and stretch, watching the vendors work their magic. A few minutes pass and he calls us up. Eliza and I grab our food, walking away and eating.
"Let's hope they're ready. We have a two hour drive, or flight, really." Eliza pulled off a bit of the rib, nodding. "Still great. Sadly, we can't stay comfortable. And my fault for not texting you, planning missions is hard enough."
"You control who goes in and who goes out, eh? I always saw you like that.... But I'd never see you with a man." I laugh as she punches my arm for mocking her. "I'm gonna take a nap, I'm certain that Grace just wants to mess with me."
Eliza gave me a thumbs up as we walk to the helicopter just out of the city. It was a weird day, but a trip to the base wouldn't hurt. She gave the pilot a wave, saying that his name is Marius.
Marius took us up in the air after we get on, and moves south. I had never seen Britain like this, and it was sure a sight to see. Two hours pass on and we are landing at a large, college-like facility .
"Let's get to work." Eliza says, grabbing my bags with Marius. "Welcome to Hereford base."
I take a look at the whole base, seeing Grace and someone else carrying some guns out of a room. "I take it that's my room?"
"Yes. It's best to bunk with someone else for today. They're not going to finish." Marius looked at the room. "Nienk is open."
"Ah, ah, ah. As Y/n's big sister, I don't want to see little versions of him after nine months." Eliza joked. "Besides, he's got hots for me."
I smack her on the back of the head. "Sorry, but I didn't know who you were. I would never do that." Marius looked at us, unable to speak. "That was awkward. I apologize for my older sister's incestuous behavior."
Eliza laughs, wiping her eyes and taking Marius to another room, which had the design of a woman and a replica behind her.
"Here's your lover's room." Eliza yelled, opening the door. "Oh? And it's open. My, my, don't forget to lock it."
"And you told me to stay weird.." I say, looking at Iana. "Oh, I'm kinda forced to stay here tonight."
She just blinked, holding her cup. "A-Alright!"
