I Love You (A Virgil Tracy Fanfic)

First Mission, Venom

(Lilly's POV)

After months and months of training, I'm finally going on my first mission! It's nothing too big. A Hepetologist had been bitten by a rare banana spider and he needed anti-venom fast. I just needed to go with Scott and Virgil to help them recover some anti-venom that got stuck in a tree while it was on his way to the Hepetologist. Well, if only it was that simple.

We all got into Thunderbird 2 and made our way to the rescue location. We arrived and me and Scott got ready to begin the rescue. "I have the coordinates on where the drone was last. You'll have to configure a pod, the dragonfly should be the best for getting around the jungle." Virgil said. "F-A-B." I said as I selected the dragonfly pod on the hologram. 

Once the dragonfly was built, me and Scott hopped in. "This big fella should blend in with all the other insects." Scott said. "Don't. I have a thing for a specific insect but I don't wanna talk about it." I said. I have Lepidopterophobia, a fear of butterflies but I didn't want him or anyone to know about it. "Hmm. Wait, is it spiders? Because you know this mission is because of a spider, right?" Scott smirked. "I said I don't wanna talk about it." I replied. 

"Stand by guys, we're nearly there." Virgil said over the comms. "Me and Scott will grab the anti-venom and we'll meet you at the doctors base as fast as possible." I said. "F-A-B babe, I'll do my best to stabilise the doctor but you and Scott need to be as fast as possible." Virgil said. Then, me and Scott left Thunderbird 2 with the dragonfly pod and flew to where the drone was. Scott was nice and let me pilot.

"I'm picking up a weak signal from the drone, but it's below the treetops." Scott said. "The jungle's too dense for me to fly through." I said. "Land on that tree and I'll climb down. You can stay here in the pod so you don't run into any bugs if you want to." Scott suggested. "Scott, I'm fine it's just one particular bug I don't like but it's no big deal." I responded. "It's spiders, isn't it?" Scott asked. "I said I don't wanna talk about it so just drop it." Then, there was a crunch and the branch began to break. "I think we're about to!" Scott said. I tried to get the dragonfly pod off the branch but it was too late. The dragonfly fell and smashed into a million pieces.

(Virgil's POV)

I got out of Thunderbird 2 and made my way to the doctor. I found him sat on the floor. He was really weak and was struggling to breathe. "Doctor?" I said. "International Rescue...I-I presume." the doctor said. "At your service." I said. "I'm gonna transfer you to the medical bay on Thunderbird 2 while my fiancé and brother pick up the anti-venom for you. Everything's gonna be fine." I explained. "As long as they get here in time..." I continued, under my breath. 

(Lilly's POV)

"Welp. Wings are gone. Other than that, there's not too much damage." I said. "Okay so it can't fly but we can still travel on the ground." Scott said. "No need!" I replied as I pointed up. There was the drone stuck in the tree! "Race ya!" I laughed as I began climbing the tree. "Lilly! We don't have time for childish games!" Scott yelled. "I-I'm so sorry I-" "Besides, you'll never beat me! Haha, see you at the top!" Scott laughed as he began climbing. Little shit! I raced after him. 

I managed to climb above him and drop down right in front of him. "What were you saying about see you at the top?" I laughed. "Okay, okay, you win. But be careful. These branches are dry and rotten. Remember what happened with the pod." Scott said. I walked along the branch. "So far, so good. This branch seems solid enough to take our weight." I said. I snuck up to the drone and tried to take the anti-venom. I managed to get hold of it but then, a leaf fell on the branch and the branch began to break. "Oh you have gotta be kidding me! A LEAF?" Scott yelled. The branch snapped and me and Scott fell straight into the water below. We got caught in a strong current and we had no idea where we were going.
