Team Sonic and Amy Rose in A Night of Fright is No Delight!

Chapter 2

Elsewhere in the mansion, the clock struck midnight and the grandfather clock opened. Out of it came the shadow Scooby had seen down in the basement. It crept up the stairs, to the rooms that everyone was staying in, entered Cousin Simple's room, and whatever was the cause 0f the shadow had scared the living daylights out of Cousin Simple.

Back in the hall, everyone stuck their heads out their doors after hearing a noise, and a loud one too.

"Like, what was that?!?!?!?!?!??" Shaggy questions

"I don't know, but it came from Cousin Simple's room!!!" Amy responds

When everyone got there, Cousin Simple was nowhere to be found. Only thing left on his bed where he was was his night cap.

"Poor Cousin Simple. All that's left of him is his night cap." Nephew Norvel comments

"Tsk tsk tsk. Isn't that a shame?" Cousin Slicker comments

Fred found a bunch of writing on a dusty mirror.

"Hey, get a load of this writing on this dusty mirror!" Fred exclaims as everyone looked over

"It says...'The first is gone, the rest will go, unless you leave the island and row! Row! Row!??" Velma comments. "Signed, the 'Phantom Shadow'."

"Phantom Shadow?!?!?!???" Shaggy yelped. "Then you were right, Scooby!!!"

"Ruh-huh." Scooby comments, nodding

"I think we better return to our rooms and lock our doors." Cousin Slicker stated

However, when Mystery Inc., Sonic, Knuckles, Miles, and Amy returned to their jointed room, they didn't have the door unlocked adn in the bed was a dummy replica meant to be Scooby.

"Fantastic! That dummy looks just like Scooby-Doo." Velma says

"You think this plan will work, Freddy?" Amy comments

"Sure it will." Fred replied. "I left the door unlocked, so when the Phantom Shadow comes in to grab the dummy of Scooby, we'll all grab him!"

"All except Shaggy and Scooby, they've decided to play this show safe and watch from outside on the drainpipe." Miles states

"I can't think of a safer place, can you, Scoob?" Shaggy asks

"RNuh-uh." Scooby replied, shaking his head

Suddenly, the Phantom Shadow reached out from an upper room and shoved the drainpipe, causing it to swing around, Scooby and Shaggy yelping and howling.

"Hang on guys, i've got you!!" Miles shouts, running over and trying to grab the two to pull them back inside

However, in the chaos, Miles got yoinked out as well, the drainpipe still swinging around, eventually crashing on a rock and sending the three right into a cave system under the mansion.

"See?? I told you i'd save you." Miles states

"Great." Shaggy comments. "But next time, please don't do me and Scoob any favors unless we ask for it."

"Reah." Scooby replied

When getting up and exploring, Shaggy had no real clue where they were.

"Like, where are we anyhow?" Shaggy asks

"It seems to be a sort of secret passage under the mansion." Miles replied

Scooby then began sniffing something on the ground.

"Footprints???" Miles questions

"That means the Phantom Shadow must've been this way!!" Shaggy comments

"There's something odd, though. If he's a Phantom Shadow, how come he leaves footprints?" Miles comments

"Dirty feet?" Shaggy comments

"Well, we're gonna follow those dirty feet and try to find that phantom." Miles said, looking at Shaggy. "And you'll have to lead the way."

Shaggy gulped. When following the footprints, they found a whole lot of Civil War collectables.

"What's all this??" Shaggy asked

"Relics from the Civil War." Miles answers. "The colonel used to collect them."

"Let's go see." Shaggy said as they walked into the area with all the collectables and noticed there was a bunch of uniforms. "Like, uniforms must've been his favorite. The wagon's full of them."

Suddenly, h=one of the uniforms rose up, flying.

"RIKES!!!!" Shaggy yelped

"ZOINKS!!!" Shaggy yells, picking up Scooby. "Haunted uniforms!!!!"

Shaggy managed to pick up both Miles and Scooby, or well, he picked up Scooby and then Scooby picked up Miles and they ran, the flying uniform chasing after them., Then, they ended up on Miles' shoulders, adn then somehow on Scooby's backs. They ran right into an elevator which went down then went back up to where they were cornered.

"Zoinks!!! Cornered in an elevator!" Shaggy yelped

Scooby then took note of how the uniform was flying around and growled, snarled, and barked at it, which caused a goose to poke it's head out and fly off, causing the uniform to fall to the ground.

"Wow, you did it, Scooby!" Shaggy cheered

Miles grabbed the elevator switch and comments, "I wonder where this eerie old elevator goes to."

"Out of here I hope." Shaggy states as Miles pulled the lever, making the elevator go up

The elevator went up and a secret door to Cousin Slicker's room opened up.

"Well, whaddya know, it goes to Cousin Slicker's room!" Shaggy says. "Come on!"

When they walked further in however, they discovered Cousin Slicker was gone!

"But...where is he?" Miles asked

Shaggy gulped and said, "Gone, like Cousin Simple."

Later, they met back up with the others in the hall, finding out all the heirs were gone.

"They're all gone!" Velma exclaims

"Cousin Simple..." Knuckles lists off

"Cousin Slicker...." Shaggy added

"Nephew Norvel...." Fred added further

"Even Sweet Cousin Meldahyde!" Daphne said

"All but one." Sonic said

Scooby gulped and shook, saying, "RMe?????"

"Yes, you, Scoob." Fred confirmed

Scooby whimpered and gulped a little.

:Wow, what a night for a fright..." Amy comments

"You said it." Sonic replied, thinking. "Four missing heirs, a haunted house, and a Phantom Shadow..."

"Like, all that's missing is a spooky organ." Shaggy comments

Suddenly, some eerie organ music echoed throughout the house, causing everyone to look around.

"It's not missing anymore!" Velma says

"Come on, let's see if we can try to find where it's coming from!" Fred says

As everyone walked to investigate the organ music, failing to notice the Phantom Shadow creeping up behind them, cackling and rattling it's chain.
