Thick black smoke hung in the air; desperate screams echoed across vast valleys and plains. Large tongues of fire scorched the sky and buildings crumbled to the ground under the heat of thousands of flames. People ran terror-stricken, some falling to their knees and letting out cries of exhaustion and pain.

Among the wreckage, large, black, hulking figures emerged. Scarlet blood stained the rows of pointed teeth that protruded from their mouths, and vicious snarls tore from their throats. Deadly weapons of all shapes and sizes were clasped in their hands, the metal gleaming in the moonlight.

From behind the beasts, another figure emerged. A black, hooded, cloak shrouded his face and body, concealing him from sight and making him seem ever more threatening.

"Where are they?" the cloaked figure questioned. His voice sounded surprisingly melodic, yet sinister at the same time.

"They fled," a beast spoke, fear flickering it its blood-red gaze. The man took a step towards it, laughing sourly. With one swift movement, the creature was beheaded, its body tumbling to the ground. It took all of their self-control for the others not to turn away in fear.

"You," the man spoke calmly, pointing his blood-covered sword at another beast, relishing in the waves of fear he received in return.

"Yes My Lord?" it replied, its voice sounding quiet and shaky.

"Take thirty soldiers and hunt them down. If you want to keep your pathetic life, then do not return to me unless you have their heads mounted on a spike. Am I clear?"

     "You are clear My Lord."

The beast bowed down low, taking a moment to calm its nerves before rising. It gestured for more to follow before disappearing down the cobblestone streets, splashing carelessly through the puddles of blood. Its eyes narrowed in determination and desperation to succeed in its task.

The cloaked terror surveyed the weary-eyed village folk. Some were trying desperately to haul injured family members from the wreckage, others simply trying to sneak themselves away. The fear in their eyes was unmistakable, and the man felt a sickening joy at their suffering.

A grin crossed his face, pure white teeth flashing from underneath his hood. "The rest of you," he laughed, smile ever widening, "Kill them all."
