"Come on Micah, were going to be late." Mason yelled at his little brother, rushing him out the door.

Micah sighed as he tossed his bag over his shoulders, scrambling into his brothers car. Micah ran his fingers through his blonde hair, his dark brown eyes staring into space. He wore his usual attire which consisted of a sweater and skinny jeans along with his ratty black converses.

You see, Micah didn't talk, he refused to. His past was horrible, his present is slightly horrible and who knows what his future is going to hold for him.

"I'll see you after school." Mason said as they both hopped out the door. "Meet me back here." Mason said as he looked at his younger brother. Micah nodded in response and walked to find his best friend, Chase.

"Mickey!" Chase called, Micah cringed at the nickname, he spun his body around to see his best friend wailing his arms around as he ran towards the smaller boy. Micah waved with a small smile.

"Hi Micah!" Chase smiled, attacking the smaller boy in a tight hug.

Micah squirmed out of Chase's hold with a small laugh.

Micah was 5'4, pretty short compared to most people here.

"Micah! Chase!" The two boys other friends, Tiaha and Lane.

The two girls ran over to the two boys, pulling them into a big group hug.

"Hi girls." Chase said as Micah waved.

Classes were different, obviously, it was the new year.

Micah had only a few classes with his friends, he didn't mind it.

He wasn't the one to talk and everyone knew that. Even the new teachers and students. They also knew he was openly gay, he would be teased now and then but it didn't bother him.

Nothing bothered him.

Micah and Lane both headed to the back of the classroom, somewhere they always sat.

Never in the front, never in the middle, always at the back.

'I don't like the teacher we have.' Micah wrote down on a piece of paper and passed it to Lane. She nodded in agreement.

"Alright class, settle down!" Mrs McCarthy said, looking around the classroom.

There was a tall very attractive looking male standing next to her,
"Class, this is Jaxton, he is new to our class well, school and I hope you make him feel welcomed." She said.

Jaxton smirked and waved, scanning around the room. "Jaxton, take a seat down next to Micah, Micah raise your hand."

Micah did as he was told and watched the gorgeous boy walk towards him, filling the spot next to him.

"Hi, I'm Jaxton." He said introducing himself.

Micah nodded his head slightly.

"And you are?" Micah pointed to his name that was written on his book. "Micah.." Jaxton said and Micah nodded, "Nice to meet you." He said, Micah nodded in response.

"Do you talk?" Jaxton asked and Micah just shook his head.

"He's Mute." Lane said from beside them, looking over at Jaxton.

Jaxton nodded his head, "Oh, I see." he said with a small smirk.

Throughout the rest of the lesson, Micah wrote down whatever their teacher told them to.

He wasn't at all happy that the new kid kept trying to talk to him.

He had nothing against him and Jaxton knew he was mute so he didn't know why he was bothering to speak to him.

'why are you talking to me?' Micah wrote, handing the piece of paper to the taller male.

"Because I find you interesting."

'How can you find someone who is mute, interesting?"

"Doesn't matter how." Jaxton said, a large smirk on his face.

School felt like it was dragging on forever. It turned out that Jaxton was in nearly in all Micah's classes. The taller boy kept trying to talk to him. The conversation only went one way since Micah didn't talk.

"Hey, Mi." Mason said, smiling as the boy got into the car. Micah nodded his head as to say 'Hi'.

"How was school?" Micah just shrugged his shoulders. He liked listening to people talk but he hated when people talked to him. Only because he couldn't/wouldn't talk back.

"Sign your answers, Micah. Don't be lazy." Yes, Micah knew sign language, he had always known sign language he was just way to lazy to sign and he never wanted to.

He hated it.

He hated the idea of words coming out of his mouth.

Couldn't stand it, which was odd to say the least.
