After the fall, Iwaizumi knelt down next to Oikawa, frantically shaking him.

"Tooru, wake up! Wake up!!" Iwaizumi called out. Oikawa started taking sharp, quick breaths after about 30 seconds of not breathing.

"I-Iwa-" Oikawa barely managed to get out. In that moment, it was like he knew exactly what to do. He took off Oikawa's shirt and examined his chest and back to make sure he hadn't been impaled by fallen sticks and branches. He took a short sigh of relief when he didn't see anything. After standing up, Iwaizumi grabbed Oikawa's shirt and then Oikawa bridal style. Iwaizumi didn't know how he did it, but he started running.

It was about a 5 minute walk to the field so he got back to his house in a mere 2.5 minutes. He opened the door and yelled out to his mother and auntie.

"Mom! Auntie! Tooru fell from the apple tree and he's knocked out!" The Mrs'. ran over to where Iwaizumi was still holding Oikawa, trembling at the sight of his best friend's body in his arms, still and silent. Mrs. Iwaizumi called an ambulance while Mrs. Oikawa took Tooru from Iwaizumi and placed him on the couch with a wet rag on his head. As the Mrs'. ran to the door to stand and wait for the ambulance, Iwaizumi walked over to Oikawa. Looking down at the unconscious boy's face, he felt tears well up and finally trickle down his cheeks. He silently sobbed and threw himself onto Oikawa, hoping he would wake up.

As the Mrs'. heard the sirens in the distance, they ran inside to collect Oikawa, only to find Iwaizumi sitting on the floor, sobbing into Oikawa's hand. Mrs. Oikawa felt her heart ache as she walked over to the boys.

"Hajime, honey, Tooru-chan is gonna be ok. I just need you to let go o-" She was cut off.

"I'm not leaving Tooru. I'm going with him." Mrs. Oikawa nodded slightly and picked up her son while walking towards the front door. She felt a tiny but strong presence at her side and looked over to see Iwaizumi following her with red eyes and a runny nose, still holding Oikawa's limp hand.
