"There you go and have a lot ely day madam" I smiled at the kind old lady who had just finished getting her books. She hobbled away as the door bell rung through the shop echoeing on the many many bookshelves as it always did. I pulled out my book and sat on my set on my chair leaning back and imersing myself in it waiting for the customer or customers to finish finding what they need. I was drawn to the story of Romeo finding his traditional Juliet only to find she wanted to be his Julien aka transgender and still in love. The story was called 'Romeo's Julien' it was a thrilling tale that just got more and more interesting as you kept reading. It was so interesting that I didn't release that the local hunter and butcher were standing on the other side of the counter staring at me. It wasn't until the butcher knocked on my desk did I notice some one was there. I scrambled up and closed my book hastaly. "I'm so sorry for keeping you waiting sir's... Is there anything I can do for you?" The taller one chuckled and nodded. His friend put in.
"Yes there is. Is there any books on how to tend to exotic meats?" I smiled and walked around the counter to find if blocked by books. I walked back sighing.
"There is but I need you to back up a bit." They nodded and took a step back as I jumped over the counter landing neatly on the floor on the other side slightly brushing myself off and walking looking at them. "Follow me please." They follow me to a back corner were there was a whole isle with books on rare meats and how to treat them. "Here you go sirs. Come to the front if you need anything else." I walk back to the front and get back into my book making sure I don't lose myself in it like I did last time. Three minutes later they come back and I sit down my book and stand up "I hope you found what you were looking for."
"Actually we did. In fact we might come back cause Sappy over here got caught in so interesting looking fantasy books." The shorter of the two responded as he elbowed 'Sappy' in the ribs.
"Well come back any time." I smiled and waves as the shorter left the money on the counter and left with his taller friend. I put the money in the drawer and notice they gave me a $1.40 to many. 'Gotta remember to give that $1.40 when they come back.' Once I was done righting that down and sticking it to my bulletin board by my desk I once again sat down in my chair and started reading Romeo's Julien again.
