Chapter 12

"Wake up!"

I opened my eyes and saw Ian yelling at me to wake up. I sat up. "What time is it?"

"6 o' clock."

'What!"

"Well we need to be there early to get the papers signed."

"Oh yeah. I forgot about that."

I jumped up and pushed Ian out of my room. I got changed and went into the living room. They were ready when I got there.

Ian looked at me and smiled. "Ready?"

"Ummm...hold on!"

I ran back to my room and grabbed my notebook and phone. I almost forgot.

I came back. "Ready!"

We walked out the door to the car. I jumped in the front next to Anthony. I felt so nervous. What if this is a joke and they are just going to give me back? I hope not. That wouldn't be cool.

The orphanage was far away so I had time. I opened my notebook and started drawing Racheal and I. I wanted to give her something to remember me.

When I finished I looked out the window. We were on the highway now. I was looking at the lights when I fell asleep.

I woke up when we got there. I felt refreshed and ready.

I jumped out of the car and ran into the orphanage. When I ran in, Racheal was at the door.

I stopped and we looked at each other. We then embraced and started crying.

"I missed you so much!" I said between sobs.

"I missed you too." She said back.

We hugged until Ian and Anthony came inside.

"I have something for you." I pulled out the picture and gave it to her.

It was of us running around, playing tag. It was us of when we were little.

She stared at it. "Thank you."

"Now I'll always be with you."

She finally looked up at me. "I have something to tell you."

"Well spit it out!"

"I-I'm being adopted..."

I looked at her, wide eyed. "Are you serious?"

She nodded.

"That is awesome! Who is adopting you?"

"A man and his wife. They said they were lonely and wanted a kid. So they choose me."

I screamed and pulled her into a hug. I pulled back. "Rich?"

She nodded with a smile. I quickly pulled out a piece of paper. I started writing my number, "When you get a cell phone. Add me to your contacts."

I gave her the paper.

"Okay. I will."

I held out my pinky, "Pinky promise?"

She connected her pinky with mine, "Pinky promise."

"Anna! We need you over here!" Anthony called.

"I have to go." I gave her another hug before running to where they are.

I sat in the seat in the middle of them. "What?"

Ms.Kelly looked at me, "You have to decide."

"Decide on what?"

"If you want to stay with them or not."

"Of course I do! Why would you even ask that?!"

"It's what we have to do."

I nodded. I just thought it was stupid to do that. Of course I want to be with them.

They finished signing the papers. We stood up. Ian and Anthony shook Ms.Kelly's hand and went to the door.

I ran over and gave her a hug. She returned it.

"I told you this was the one."

"You have me there." I pulled back and saw tears in her eyes.

"Stay in touch."

"I will."

I ran to catch up with them. Before getting in the car, I gave the orphanage one last look.

"I'm going to miss this place."

I walked to the car and got in. Anthony started the car and looked at me, "Ready?"

"Ready as i'll ever be..."

With that we were on the road, going home.

That's the end!!!! Sorry for the chapter being so short. But i'm going to make another book so is it really the end?
