New Perspective- Panic! At the Disco

Mina was in the library with Sakamoto and Maeda, working on their next case for a mock trial. She sipped on her magenta water bottle as she typed out the outline.

"Okay, we need to come up with a counterargument as to why it was reasonable for the mother to leave her 10-year-old at home." Mina started thinking of ways to approach the case.

"Ugh, why do we have to be on defense AGAIN? Does Yashiro-san hate us or something?" Sakamoto complained.

"As much as I hate defense, we can't switch. We'll just have to suck it up." Maeda sighed.

Sakamoto blew a piece of hair out of her face. "I hate it when you're right." She says. Maede laughs as he starts typing on his laptop.

20 minutes into their work, they began piecing the information together for their counterargument. Their concentration was interrupted by a loud vibration shaking the surface of the table. They all looked at the red phone as it vibrated again. Mina grabs it and looks at the screen. She smiled and stood up.

"We should take a break, yeah?" Mina grabs her water bottle and takes another sip.

"Where are you going?" Maeda asked.

"To the bathroom. I'll be back in 5." Mina puts her bottle down and leaves her friends.

Mina exited the library and went into the girl's bathroom. She went into a vacant stall and sat down on the toilet. She opens her phone and looked at the new message:

Teppei-kun 💛

Subject: After School

Message: Hey Min-chan, I was wondering if you want to hang out today? It would be nice to catch up on lost time.

Status: READ 1:37 PM

Message: Sure! I'm free after school! Where r we going?

Message: We can go to the mall. We could explore the shops and go to the Asuka cafe afterward.

Mina smiled as she exited the stall. It would be nice to catch up with Teppei. She just hopes Jiro won't mind. She knows how jealous he can get.

2 hours later...

Teppei was checking the time on his phone as he patiently waited at the mall's entrance for Mina to arrive. He couldn't help but feel excited to spend time with his best friend. He looked out into the distance and saw Mina walking towards the mall's main entrance. He sighed and smiled. He was low-key grateful that Jiro wasn't with her. If Teppei was being honest, he wanted today to be just him and Mina.

"Teppei-kun! Hope I didn't keep you waiting". Mina hoped.

"Nope, you're on time! As usual". Kiyoshi chuckled.

"Alright, where do you want to go first"? She asks.

For the past few hours, Teppei and Mina were running around the mall as if they were kids again. They went to a book shop and bought a few books for themselves. Mina recommended him some new books to add to his collection, while he showed her some of his favorite manga. Then, they head over to an arcade where they played games until they ran out of tokens.

Their last stop of the day was at the boba place. Mina was laughing at the joke Kiyoshi made as they finished their boba.

"I missed this". He sighed.

"Me too, we should do this more often", She took a sip from her cup.

"So how's the winter cup going so far?" Mina asks.

"Well, we're facing Yosen next. Not gonna lie, it's a little nerve-wracking",

"I'm sure you'll do great", She reassured him.

"How's the Tōō team doing?" Asked Teppei.

"They're okay. Although, they were a bit bummed that they lost. Especially the 3rd years. That was their last game.". said Mina.

"I gotta admit, they're really good. Especially Jiro. I mean, aside from Aomine, he's a monster on the court".. Kiyoshi jokes.

As Kiyoshi kept rambling, Mina grabbed her drink and took a sip. However, her hand shook with fear as Kiyoshi kept rambling about Jiro's monstrous skills. The shaking caught his attention as Mina began to space out.

"Hey, are you okay?"

Mina drops her cup causing all the boba to spill on the table and onto Kiyoshi's lap.

"OH MY GOD TEPPEI! I AM SO SORRY!" She quickly apologized.

"No, no! It's fine"! Kiyoshi stood up, letting the drink drip off his pants.

"Let me grab some napkins".

When Kiyoshi tried to stop her, he noticed a big blueish-purplish hue on her right wrist.

"Ummm, Teppei?"

He looks up, taking his attention off of her wrist. "No, I'll just go to the restroom. I'll be back in a minute", he runs off.

Mina cleaned up the spill and threw the napkins in the garbage. She was waiting for Kiyoshi to come back when she heard her phone begin to ring. She picked her phone up and looked at the caller ID.

Incoming call from my future hubby 💍

She opened her phone and denied the call. As she closed her phone, Kiyoshi came back from the restroom.

"Are you ready to go?''

"Yeah". Mina says, grabbing her purse.

They thanked the cafe owner and left the cafe feeling satisfied.

"This was the most fun I had since high school started!" Mina chuckled.

"Well, I hope we get to hang out more. I know you're busy, but it's nice to take a break every once in a while".

As they began to walk to the subway entrance, Kiyoshi wondered if it was the right time to mention the bruise on her wrist. He knows that it's not his business to ask, but he wanted to know if his friend is okay or not.

"Hey Mina, there's something I want to ask", before he could say anything else, they heard someone calling out Mina in the distance.

They turn around to see Jiro marching towards them. "MINA! I was looking for you after school! Did you not get my calls"? He questioned.

"I'm sorry. My phone was dead", she lied.

"Well, next time charge it! You know how worried I get when you don't answer my calls or texts".

"I'm sorry Ji-kun. I'll do better next time". She apologized. He grabbed Mina's wrist and pulled her towards him.

"I'm taking you home. I'm not letting you take the dirty subway". Said Jiro.

"Kiyoshi". He nodded as they walked off.

"I'll see you around Mina!" Kiyoshi yelled.

"Goodnight Teppei", she waves as Jiro drags her.

Kiyoshi couldn't help but glare at the two. He loves Mina very much. However, he wasn't too fond of Jiro. Sure, he wanted Mina to be happy, but there was something off about him. He just doesn't know what.
