Leila was awoken by her alarm clock singing right in her ear. Ha, she wished. She covered her head with her pillow before she slammed her fist onto the clock which silenced it for now. She laid there for a bit before her mom peeked into her room, smiling when she noticed Leila was at least awake.

"Leila sweetie, you need to get up for school," she said. "Breakfast is waiting on the table for you."

When she got no response her smile widened and she said "It's french toast and pancakes, your favorite." She noticed it made Leila peek out which made her giggle. "I cleaned your uniform yesterday. It's laying on your desk." With that her mom left back downstairs. Leila laid still for a few minutes before she jumped out of bed and made her bed as per usual. She grabbed her uniform off the desk and analyzed it for a moment. White button down, thin navy overcoat, black skirt that reached a couple centimeters above the knee, black crew socks and navy flats. When she picked it all up she also found a black and navy striped tie. Thing was. . . . . .she had no idea how to tie a tie. She felt a bit embarrassed to ask anybody though.

Hmph she thought. I'll figure it out on my own for sure!

Maybe 15 minutes of struggling later, she finally asked her mom for help. Her mom was chuckling the entire time while Leila just looked annoyed. Afterwards she was in the bathroom brushing her hair before she started taking in her appearance once more. Long, curly black hair that somehow always got in her face, tanned skin, a pretty average body in her opinion, that one mole beneath her right eye, her dimples, but the one thing she thought was the most intriguing was her eyes. Among all of the mostly neutral colors they stuck out the most. They were passed onto her and her brother from their dad. Piercing, bright amber eyes. Her mom and grandmother on her mother's side always said they were beautiful and, well, she thought so too. She liked them the most out of anything.

When she looked at the time she quickly dropped her hairbrush into the sink and ran back to her room, grabbing her bag that was sitting next to her bed and dashing downstairs. She took a couple French toast sticks and said bye to her mom before she ran out the door to the bus stop.

I can't believe it! she thought. I was almost late for school! Dang mind always gets distracted. . . .She arrived at the bus stop completely out of breath before she realized. . . . .She read the time wrong. She let out an annoyed groan, sitting on the benches with a very tired look on her face. She slowly ate her breakfast as she analyzed her schedule. Three floors? she thought. Why does there have to be three floors? My legs are gonna be so tired! She noticed a boy a bit down the block with the same color uniform as her walking to the bus stop as well. She watched as he approached and sat on the bench on the complete other side of her, the both of them in complete silence.

The boy looked over at her and she immediately looked away, her cheeks turning pink with embarrassment. She'd tried glancing over again to see if he was still looking but her cheeks turned more pink then they had been before when she noticed he was, indeed, still staring at her.

She hesitantly waved and gave an awkward smile. "U-Uh. . . . . .h-h-hi?" He stared a bit longer before looking away again without a word. She got a slightly offended look and looked away as well. Soon enough the bus arrived, even if it felt like a super awkward eternity to Leila. She got on the bus and scanned the seats before settling on an empty seat near the middle. She was staring out the window before she heard somebody mutter "Could you move your bag?" She looked over only to find the boy from the bus stop.

She was quiet for a second before she registered what he said. "Oh!" she exclaimed, moving her bag onto her lap. "Sorry about that." Again, he didn't say anything and just sat down. Whatever, Leila thought. I can play the silent game too. All the other kids on the bus were being super loud aside from the kids in the back who were also silent, along with Leila and the boy from the bus stop. Right as she was about to say something to him he got up and left which made her notice they'd arrived.

A few hours later and lunch time finally arrived. Leila was just looking around to see if there were any empty tables. It seemed like everybody had already made friends and were sitting with them. Meanwhile Leila hadn't talked to anybody yet so she had no idea where she should go. Somebody else opened the door so she moved out of the way. The girl didn't move though, instead looking at Leila. She tilted her head before snapping and pointing at Leila. "Leila Morris, right?" the girl said. Hesitating a moment, Leila nodded. The girl smiled and grabbed her free hand, leading Leila out of the cafeteria. As they walked, the girl began talking. "My name's Paige Howard, great to meet you. Nowhere to sit, eh?" Wow, Paige sure talked fast. Leila spoke up, confusion laced in her voice. "Y-Yeah, it's just I'm-" She was cut off by Paige before she could finish. "New? Yeah, I know. My friends told me we had a handful of new students. You're the only one who transferred, though. Anyways~. . . ." They stopped in front of a door with a sign next to it that read 'Student Council Room.' She muttered out "Student Council? Is it alright for me to be going in here? I mean, I'm not even on the Council and don't really plan to." Paige chuckled. "Oh don't worry about it! You're supposed to be here after all. Mr. President Adel asked me to bring you." Leila's eyes widened a tiny bit. "Adel? You mean my-"

The door opened before she had a chance to finish her sentence and Paige pulled her inside. "Oh Adel~. I found her." Adel tore away from his conversation to greet the two. "Thank you, Paige." He turned his attention to Leila and waved Paige off, her hesitating a moment before bounding off to her friend.

Leila still looked a bit bewildered. "You're. . . . .You're the president?! Is that why you left so early this morning?" Now it was Adel's turn to be confused. "Mom didn't tell you? Huh. She must've forgotten. Well, now that you're here, you can eat your lunch and we can discuss preparations of when we're going to be allowing people in. And don't worry. This is just for members, but you can still give ideas when applicable."

Soon enough, it was the end of the day and Leila was heading out to the gate at the front of the school. There, she found Adel and the boy she saw on the bus. "Ah, there you are slowpoke!" Adel captured her in a headlock, nuzzling her hair as she struggled free. "Alright, before we go, I want you to meet somebody." Adel grabbed the boy's wrist and brought him closer so he and Leila were face to face. "This is Yosai Tristan. He's on the student council with me. Now, onwards to home!"

While on their way to Leila and Adel's house, Leila was analyzing Tristan to get a better look. He was more on the average side of the height spectrum, she'd say 5'9" at most. Still a good 5 inches taller than her. He had fluffy hair that reached just barely past his chin, a nice ice blue color with navy at the tips. She assumed it was dyed seeing as she could see it fading at his roots. He didn't seem to be listening to whatever Adel was ranting about today. Her eyes landed on the object his headphones were connected to; it poked out of his bag a bit. A wide smile spread across her face without her realizing. She lagged behind a minute before she jogged to join them again, this time on the right of Tristan and lightly tapping his upper arm. He didn't respond the first time so she tried again.

Tristan shrugged a bit in an attempt to brush her hand away before he turned his gaze to give attention to the joker looking girl now next to him. Seriously, her smile seemed too wide to be humanly possible. She said something quickly before she actually noticed he couldn't hear. She reached up and gently moved the headphones down onto around his neck which earned her a weird look. She didn't falter though and tried again. "I just noticed you have a Walkman. I thought that they went out of style and nobody sold them anymore?" He just gave a simple shrug and looked forward again. Eventually he muttered, "My aunt gave me it. Said it was hers when she was younger."

Though he wasn't looking at her, he could feel the happiness radiating off of her causing him to fight off a smile. Her happiness was just that contagious.
