You and Alex aren't officially dating, but when he sees you talking to other guys at the bar, things change.

You were doing some last minute touches to your hair and fixing your clothes before you went out with Alex. You two had known each other for a while, had definitely flirted back and fourth, but you weren't really sure if you were dating or not yet. You were guessing that a trip to the bar could be a date? Either way, it is fun to go out and socialize, Alex was fun to talk to.

You got to the bar a little early and it was quite crowded. No surprise, given it was 7 PM on a Saturday night. You went ahead and found a seat at the bar, and there were plenty of drunks waiting to get even drunker as they watched something on TV, eventually getting into some philosophical conversation before a basketball or football game comes on.

A guy with black hair and dark brown eyes walked up to you, he was mildy handsome and seemed to hold himself well.

"Is this seat taken?" He asked.

You looked at the time, Alex was already a few minutes late, you figured it wouldn't hurt to talk to someone before he got there.

"No, you can go ahead." You said, hoping not to come off as too interested though, you were pretty dead set on being with Alex tonight.

You two had engaged in some small talk, little introductions, chats about different things. He had even made you laugh a little. By the time the person to the other side of you left, Alex had finally arrived.

He was quick to interrupt your current conversation as he sat down,"Hello love, sorry I'm late."

"It's okay Alex, I had some company." You noticed that comment made him seem a little jealous, he wanted to make things a little clearer to the guy.

"Who are you?" He asked invitingly, trying to play it cool, and then put his hand on your back before wrapping it around your waist, pulling you a little closer to him.

"Alex, this is Brian. He works at a tech development agency."

"That's cool dude," once again, Alex tried to pretend he wasn't jealous, but it was quite obvious.

"Thanks," he said,"I really like working there, I tried to get my brother to work there too, but he is dead set on being a musician. Too impractical, what a dead end job that would be."

Oh lord. As if Alex wasn't jealous already, this guy had basically attempted to invalidate his entire career without even realizing it.

"Really? I think the music industry can be great for the right people. If you've got the passion and drive, it could work."

You liked seeing Alex assert himself, not just for you but for the things he was quite passionate about. It was kind of hot to see him stand up to this guy a little.

"No dude, most kids just use it as an excuse to live with their parents for the rest of their lives and work at a fast food resturant. Being a musician isn't even that productive, what do they really even do?"

As if this couldn't get any more heated, it appeared that Brian had said about all he could say to threaten Alex and his entire career.

"Well," Alex cleared his throat,"as a musician, I would say we may not directly contribute a lot to the world, we do raise money for charities and different things. Art can help people in different ways as well. It's really hard to generalize an entire industry like that."

"Whatever dude. Anyway," Brian looked at you and stood up,"You're one hot chick, what do you say we get outta here? I can take you back to my place and this guy can get lost."
