Let me steal your Jacket

2 minutes until the end of the game and we're winning by 2 points. I look back at Sirius and he gives me a smile and a thumbs up as the last play begins.

The whistle blows marking the end of the game and immediately I tackled to the ground by my team mates, celebrating our victory.

It was the last game of the season since it was already mid November. Meaning the wind was chilly which cooled us off well during the game.

"Hey James. You coming to the party at Leo's ?" Arthur asks me.

"Nah sorry, I have plans with Sirius" I respond before walking over to the bench and grabbing my jacket.

Sirius runs up to me and asks if I'm ready to go. He wraps an arm around my shoulders, at least tries. I'm a little too tall for him to, so I bend down a little.

As we're walking off the field, I met eyes with Lily. My ex. I broke up with her 3 weeks ago now but she's still hurt apparently. I just rolled my eyes when she gave me a sad expression and continued walking to the lockers.

Sirius and I got changed and left before any of the others even came in to change.

We got into my car and turned on our shared playlist. Yes, it was Sirius' idea to create it.

"So captain. How we feeling about the season?" He asked while rolling down his window.

"Eh, pretty good I guess. I'm glad we won the last one so that we have a 1 loss for every 3 wins average. What about you?" I responded.

"Pretty okay. Wish Remus was here to watch though" He responded before lighting a cigarette.

"He'll be back next week bud... And if I'm honest, I've seen Moony read in the middle of a game." I said as we went onto the free way and I sped up.

"Well thanks for keeping me company tonight. I couldn't find it in myself to party without him there, so thanks for sacrificing a night of free alcohol and girls for me." He said turning up the music.

"Yeah of course, any day bro. I don't give two shits about a party when I can't go with my best friend. It just becomes pointless. And your house is full of very strong liquor so I do still expect to be drunk by 2am" I said taking the exit towards his house.

"My parents probably aren't home too so we can go in the pool"

"Is your brother home? It feels like it's been years since I've seen him" I asked.

"Maybe. Honestly he's been going out every night and coming home at 7am. I saw him one time when leaving for school and he's not drunk or high or anything so I have no clue what he's doing.
It feels like since he quit boarding school for homeschool he's been so much more secretive. He keeps everything to himself and barely even talks to me. Like dude when I was 8, I considered him my best friend. We'd spend our entire day together and pick each other over our friends but now even when I ask if he wants to hang out, he just says no and kicks me out of his room." Sirius ranted while finishing his cigarette.

"I'm sorry Siri. At least now you've got me and Remus and Peter"

"Yeah dude, Marauders forever!" He said when putting his fist up.

"I don't know if that'll stick as a group name but sure, Marauders forever" I said smiling as I pulled up in his driveway.

"No cars out. No one is home. Just me and you James" Sirius said in a creepy voice slowly leaning towards me.

"Keep this secret from Remus" I said playing into his game and leaned forward.

He squeaked and pulled backwards and slammed his back on the door. Sending me into a fit of laughter.
