"Ooohhh! A date with your friend who's a girl?" Jimin bounced on his bed and made a kissy face.
Jin paused at fixing his hair and looked towards Jimin. One moment Jin looked cheerful, even humming a tune, the next his features deadpanned at the boy's teasing.
"Oh, Jin-hyung! Your phone's ringing," Jimin grabbed Jin's phone from the top bunk.
Hoseok joined Jimin on the bed and rested his chin on the younger's shoulder. "It's noona!"
"Mwo?! Give it here!" Jin lunged toward the two boys and answered brightly. "Yeoboseo, Byul-ah?"
"Byul-ah?" said a deep baritone. "Jin-hyung, it's me Namjoon."
Jin turned away from the two boys as his face began to turn red. He was already planning on scolding Jimin and Hoseok as they gave each other a hi-five through fits of laughter. Lucky for them he had a schedule to keep.

After much teasing from Yongsun and Hyejin, Jin and Byulyi were finally alone. Inside the rooftop apartment, they set up sodas, shrimp chips, and ramyeon on the small table. In the very center, the dim room was illuminated by the warm light of a single pink birthday candle on top of a slice of pizza.
Jin clapped his hands like a kid by the time they finished, eyes bright and cheeks flushed. "Make a wish, Byulie."
"I wish-," Byulyi closed her eyes and clasped her hands. I wish for Jinnie to always be healthy and happy. That he and the rest of Bangtan Sonyeondan have a successful debut."
When she was met with a few seconds of silence, Byulyi looked up to see Jin in the same position. With his eyes closed deep in thought of his birthday wish, Byulyi took the opportunity to admire her boyfriend's handsome face.
When Jin finally opened his eyes he exchanged a pinky promise with Byulyi as a pact for next year's joint birthday party.

Present-day, 2020
Byulyi took a step backward and admired her culinary creations. She had just arranged twelve candles on top of a beautiful round strawberry shortcake. If she were to put on 29 candles on it, old man Seokjin would have something to say.
The kitchen counter was decorated in the Christmas theme she and her set designer planned for her music video, a miracle 3days ago. It was a special gift that warmed the hearts of many Moomoos and she wanted the same feel for their yearly birthday tradition.
Inside her apartment, the dim room was illuminated by cheerful fairy lights hung on walls and on garlands. There were also a few golden tea candles and the blinking noses of toy Christmas trees. On the dining table, surrounding the special cake, were platters and bowls of japchae, seaweed soup, steak, potato wedges, pasta, fried chicken with radish cubes, and dotted here and there were multicolored gummy bears. A single orange gummy sat at the very top of the cake's white cream frosting.
"Perfect!" said Byulyi.
Her doorbell suddenly rang and her three corgis ran towards the entryway excited to whoever was on the other side. Upon opening her door she was greeted by a large pizza with pepperoni slices arranged in a heart. The open lid hid whoever was holding it but the light windshield wiper giggle was unmistakable.
"Nugu?"
"Yah!" The pizza box lid swiftly fell revealing Kim Seokjin's pouty face.
Byulyi chuckled and stepped forward, linking her arms over Jin's broad shoulders. She gave a light peck on his pillowy lips and snuggled her cheek on his chest. "Happy Birthday, Jinnie."
"Happy Birthday, Byulie," Jin wrapped his arms around his fiance and swayed them both side to side.
