"I'm ready." After a few deep breaths were taken, all that could be heard was Felix's small sniffles. He let his head fall onto Chan's shoulder, once again.
Although he was comforted by the older, Felix still, however, couldn't forget the heartless words that Chan had expressed so mercilessly.
He figured that putting up a fight would be useless at this point. Chan had finally calmed down and was now comforting the boy instead.
Chan was slowly drawing circles on the boy's back, as he cradles him in his lap. He lifted one hand to his shoulder, feeling the tension in Felix's muscles.
He had started to rub down on his shoulders with his hands, relaxing the younger. His tensed arms had dropped lower, indicating he was at somewhat of ease.
Felix was tempted to remove his body from Chan's hold. He so badly wanted to run away, already embarrassed enough by wailing in front of the older Australian.
Conflicting thoughts raced through his mind. He wanted to scream, shove Chan away from him and maybe even get in a few more strikes to his ruby stained cheek, that he earlier marked with his palm.
In doing this though, he knew there was a risk of setting Chan's temper on the loose. Felix couldn't handle any more tugs pulled at his heartstrings from the older's words.
"I'm really sorry, Lixie," Chan confessed his remorse. He genuinely did feel awful for making Felix cry. Having the boy cuddled up in his lap looked so precious to him at that moment. He knew he hurt the boy, yet again.
"You didn't d-deserve the treatment I put you through." Felix could tell this apology was true, by the way, Chan's voice had cracked.
Tears were lurking at the corners of Chan's eyes. He simply didn't understand why seeing the younger upset would hurt him so much. Especially knowing that the reason behind Felix's wet streaks, was due to the pain he himself had caused to the shorter. This only bought a stinging sensation to his heart.
Felix had shivered at Chan's words. Everything was moving too fast, all happening at once. One second they were happy, next second there was crying. Apologies from the older weren't forgiven and soon the silence was replaced by screaming. Then the tears had set in again, only to be soothed with comfort, just like before.
He didn't understand what was happening. It was as if this night was stuck in a loop of misery. He wanted to escape the pain.
The hand on Felix's shoulder had dropped down onto the couch, now leaving him colder. Confusion set in, as Felix lifted his head, looking up at Chan.
Chan was reaching for the blanket with his free hand. Grabbing the fuzzy quilt, he carefully wrapped it around the younger's small body.
The sight in front of him had Chan melting. Felix looked absolutely adorable. He had the sudden urge to kiss Felix's head right then and there.
This left Chan bewildered. He wasn't sure why he was having such soft thoughts of the boy. Usually, his mind would have dirty fantasies of making love to Felix, so having urges to be gentle with the boy was confusing.
This felt different. Chan for once had felt something innocent towards Felix. His heart had started banging against his chest.
