After Louis woke up that next morning, he decided that he would stay in bed for a little while longer to give Liam more time to sleep. The brokenhearted boy probably needed his sleep after staying up for countless hours as he tried to think about what went wrong between him and Danielle on his part, what he could do to possibly fix it, and then the times with his new ex-girlfriend that he actually enjoyed. It was all going to drive Liam mental for a few days until he was able to find another relationship to put his all into.

That was one of the reasons that Louis didn't think that relationships were a great idea. There was so much stress involved once they ended, or when they needed to be ended. He's seen Liam do this many, many, times. None of it was worth it and Liam was a prime example of that for Louis to pick apart at. Liam put so much effort into romantic relationships, which Liam only argued the he didn't and he was just being himself. Louis would tell him he needed to take a break from being himself.

The two were complete opposites in almost everything but somehow they remained friends. It wasn't that Louis was more relaxed about relationships than Liam was. Louis didn't care for all of the qualities boys and girls have compiled up about what makes a relationship perfect  and what doesn't. He didn't need all of the pressures of being in love either; actually, Louis could easily point out that he's never been in love. Liam could. Apparently, he has been loads of times, but they never worked out.

It was soon brought to Louis attention that Liam wasn't sleeping on his couch when he heard a loud crash coming from outside his bedroom door and in the main living area in his apartment. He let out a mumbling groan of incoherent words as he got himself out of bed, running his hand through his slept-on hair as he left his room to see what destruction Liam was causing.

"Um, this is new." Louis said as he walked into his small kitchen, surprised that he had found Liam up and about making breakfast.

Liam looked to Louis from over his shoulder, giving him a smile. "I thought I'd just make you a little something as a thank you for letting me sleep on your couch." He shrugged his shoulders. "It's no big deal." The boy with shorter hair turned back to flip the sizzling bacon in the pan.

"Okay." Louis responded, looking at Liam to carefully study his character. He felt like Liam was too happy too soon. Just last night he was all gutted over a relationship he actually saw going somewhere and now he was casually making the two of them breakfast. Something didn't add up for Louis.

"How do you feel?" He then asked Liam as he opened up one of his cupboards for mugs. Next to the pan of bacon Liam also started up a kettle to boil water for tea.

"All right." Liam responded simply while putting the finished pieces of fried bacon aside on a plate.

Louis shook his head. That couldn't be right. Liam was never like this so quickly after showing up with a frown on his face at his door. Even with previous breakups. which were less serious than his newest, Liam spent a few days sulking. There was no way that Louis was going to believe in Liam's answer.

He set the mugs onto the counter and then grabbed his container of sugar, his eyes still more focused on his friends than what he was really doing.

"You know I don't think you are, right? As much as I love rolling my eyes about your failed dating adventures, you should be sitting on my couch looking lost." Louis extended his arm and pointed to the piece of furniture he was referring to.

"I'm not allowed to be okay?" Liam asked in confusion before walking around Louis to get some eggs from his fridge.

Again, Louis shook his head. "No, you're supposed to be planning some big romantic gesture that I'm supposed to tell you is completely stupid. Come on, you are ruining our tradition, Liam!" He crossed his arms over his chest as Liam went about his business cracking eggs on the side of a bowl.
