The sudden friendship of Teddy Lupin and Saige Stirling came as a great surprise to the students of Hogwarts. Well, it wasn't so much a friendship. The relationship between the two seemed to be more of a tolerance of each other. The blue haired boy still seemed to annoy Saige, but she was seen laughing more than scowling for a change.

The two sat by the Black Lake, taking advantage of the uncommon warmth of the Scottish summer. Saige leant against a tree, large history book resting in her lap as she tried her best to take in the information. Her last OWL was tomorrow and she was determined to memorise the entire timeline of the Revolution of the Goblins. However, Teddy was determined to distract her from this impossible task. He sat down in a huff next to Saige, dramatically flipping her book shut.

"And what was that for?" she glared at him in annoyance.

"You've studied enough," he declared. "It's almost the end of the year and you're already top of the year,  I think you'll be fine."

She put her book aside, knowing that she would not be left alone until she payed the bored boy some attention.

"And what do you suggest I do instead?" she queried. "My last exam is tomorrow and we leave for summer the next day. My things are packed and I am ready to go."

"I meant have some fun you lunatic," he laughed. His face suddenly fell into a mischievous expression and he sprung to his feet. He hauled Saige to her feet and began dragging her down the grass towards the lake.

"Edward Lupin if you throw me into the lake I swear to Merlin," she warned, resisting his strength.

"What are you gonna do about it, Stirling?" he teased.

They neared closer to the lake  and Saige continued to wriggle in his grasp, giving her best effort to escape his hold. Growing tired of her writhing, Teddy let go of her wrists, and before she could escape, he took hold of her waist and wrapped his arms around her, lifting her off the ground. She let out a stream of giggles and threats as they continued to near the water, daring the boy to take one step further.

"Don't," Saige ordered firmly as they stood over the edge of the lake, sunlight reflecting off the waters surface. Teddy laughed as he hoisted the girl up in his arms and threw her into the lake. She went down with a squeal as she hit the cold water.

When she resurfaced, Saige was met by a hysterical Teddy Lupin.

"You think you're so funny do you?" she huffed. "You're such a twit, Lupin."

"Well you're having fun aren't you?" he continued to tease. Taking a few steps back, he jumped off the edge of the grass and into the lake. He broke the surface, still laughing, as he met the smile of his friend. She splashed him with water. It was nice to see her laughing, Teddy thought to himself. She didn't seem so icy this way.

He swam towards the girl and took a hold of her waist, drawing the two close together.

"What are you doing now-" Saige was cut off as she was suddenly pulled into the water once again. The two laughed together as they resurfaced.

"Great," Saige giggled. "Now we're both soaked and have to trudge back to the castle dripping with water. Not to mention you threw me in shoes and all."

"But you had fun, didn't you?" he retorted. "Besides, aren't you forgetting something? We can use a drying charm you know."

"Yeah yeah, whatever Teddy."

The two made their way up the river bank and back onto dry land, Teddy occasionally pulling her back down into the water, earning him strings of verbal abuse. Finally reaching the grass, the two cast charms, magically evaporating the water off of themselves. The few students not holed up studying for their exams watched the two in curiosity, wondering when the two had become so close. Saige had never been seen so friendly with anyone besides her Ravenclaw friends, however, now she could be seen laughing along with the Hufflepuff boy's antics. It had become common to see the two wandering the halls together, or the blue haired boy trying his best to use his metamorphmagus abilities to distract her from various tasks. Even the prefects had taken notice of Teddy's insistent swapping of patrols so he could be with the girl.

"Can I study for my History of Magic OWL now please?" Saige said, sarcasm lacing her tone.

"Hm, I suppose so," Teddy pretended to consider her proposition.

"Oh come on," she groaned. "Don't you have some poor girl to ask out before end of term or something?"

"Wow," Teddy placed his hand on his chest, feining hurt. "I'm hurt you think of me in that way, Saige."

"Oh shove off, you know it's not a stupid proposition. What else do you have to do anyways?" she questioned.

"Besides annoying you?" he replied. "Nothing, looks like my day's free for exactly that."

"You are impossible," she sighed. The two finally entered the castle and began to make their way to the Ravenclaw common room.

"Hey Lupin, Hufflepuff is the other way," Saige reminded the boy.

"You're not getting rid of me that easily, Miss Stirling," he stated. Saige groaned at the boys annoying nature.

"Fine. You can sit in the common room with me," she negotiated. Teddy went to say something before he was cut off.

"But, you have to let me study for a bit. Then you can annoy me to your hearts content."

"You've got yourself a deal," Teddy grinned. "However, if I let you study," he ignored the girls exasperated huff, "You have to come to the kitchens with me tonight. We both know you're going to study through dinner."

"Fine."
