Kate's POV.
I got home that evening feeling fairly good about my first day. Mainly due to Rob. "Hi Kate!" my mum beamed as she saw me come into the kitchen.
"Hey," I smiled as she pulled me into a hug.
"How was college?" she asked. I put my bag on the table and grabbed some crisps out of the cupboard.
"Yeah, it was good thanks," I smiled. "Is it ok if Rosie, Jack, and Ryan come over later?" I asked.
"Of course, sweetie. But I'll be at work, so don't do anything stupid," she warned before sipping her tea.
"Me? Stupid?" I gasped as we both laughed together. I ran up to my room and checked my phone. 3 texts from Rosie.
"Hi. We'll be over at 5. Xxx" sent @ 3:52 PM
"Make sure you have Pringles!!!" sent @ 3:56 PM
"Xxx" sent @ 3:57 PM
"Oh, Rosie" I chuckled to myself. 'Great,' I thought. 'Enough time to get a shower and dressed.' I hopped in the shower, relaxing under the hot water that ran over my neck and shoulders. I didn't stay in too long as I knew my friends would be arriving soon, so I jumped out and put some clothes on. Drying my hair, I realised that I had no time to do anything with it, so left it naturally wavy. My natural hair annoyed me but Rosie always loved it, so today I guess it was her lucky day. The doorbell soon rang and I jogged down the stairs to let my guests in, when I stumbled across a note from my mum with £20 next to it.
"Have a nice night. Don't stay up too late, you have school tomorrow. Get something from Dominoes. Love you. Mum. Xx"
I really do love her. I grabbed the money and opened the door. "TO THE FOOD!" Rosie commanded and barged past me to the kitchen.
"Hello, nice to see you too," I said sarcastically then laughed. Jack and Ryan greeted me and followed Rosie into my house. I closed the door and went to find them. Sure enough, Rosie was sat on the kitchen side with the Pringles.
"Wow, you found them quick," I laughed.
"I think it's a new record," Jack replied.
"Nope," Ryan interrupted. "It took her 12 seconds, she's done it in 9 before."
"That's, disturbingly impressive. Well done," I laughed.
"Thank you," she replied, her words muffled as they struggled to get through her full mouth of Pringles.
"That's also disgusting..." I said, looking away. "Oh my mum left me £20, so we can get some pizza if you'd like?"
"Awh. That sounds great," Ryan smiled, showing his perfect set of teeth once again.
When our large pepperoni stuffed crust pizza and garlic bread arrived, we stuck on a load of films and dived in. Rosie and Jack were sat close together on the floor at the foot of my bed. They're so cute together. They always deny any feelings they have for each other and say they don't want to ruin their friendship. But they're still adorable. That left Ryan and me on the bed. I love Ryan. He's like a brother to me, and always bas been. He wouldn't let anyone hurt me so I always feel safe with him.
The film's we're over and all that was left of the pizza were a few crumbs. I know my mum told me not to stay up late but I just loved these guys, and I missed them so much over the summer. They knew they had to be heading back though, so at about 11, we all said goodbye and they started their short walks home.
That night I lay on my bed, missing their presence. I smile to myself at all the memories that had been made, and at how much I was looking forward to seeing them in the morning. Just as I closed my eyes, about to drift off, it was not any of my friends that came into my mind. It was Rob? He hadn't crossed my mind once that evening, yet there I lay wondering about what he was doing right now...
